Zebul Deceives Abimelech
22 And Abimelech governed over Israel three years. 23 (A)Then God sent an evil spirit between Abimelech and the lords of Shechem; and the lords of Shechem (B)dealt treacherously with Abimelech, 24 (C)so that the violence [a]done to the seventy sons of Jerubbaal might come, and (D)their blood might be laid on Abimelech their brother, who killed them, and on the lords of Shechem, who strengthened his hands to kill his brothers. 25 And the lords of Shechem set [b]men in ambush against him on the tops of the mountains, and they robbed all who might pass by them along the road; and it was told to Abimelech.

22 After Abimelech had reigned over Israel three years, 23 (A)God sent a (B)spirit of ill will between Abimelech and the men of Shechem; and the men of Shechem (C)dealt treacherously with Abimelech, 24 (D)that the crime done to the seventy sons of Jerubbaal might be settled and their (E)blood be laid on Abimelech their brother, who killed them, and on the men of Shechem, who aided him in the killing of his brothers. 25 And the men of Shechem set [a]men in ambush against him on the tops of the mountains, and they robbed all who passed by them along that way; and it was told Abimelech.
