New International Reader's Version
52 Abimelek went to the tower and attacked it. He approached the entrance to the tower to set it on fire. 53 But a woman dropped a large millstone on him. It broke his head open.
54 He quickly called out to the man carrying his armor. He said, “Pull out your sword and kill me. Then people can’t say, ‘A woman killed him.’ ” So his servant stuck his sword through him. And Abimelek died.

52 Abimelek went to the tower and attacked it. But as he approached the entrance to the tower to set it on fire, 53 a woman dropped an upper millstone on his head and cracked his skull.(A)
54 Hurriedly he called to his armor-bearer, “Draw your sword and kill me,(B) so that they can’t say, ‘A woman killed him.’” So his servant ran him through, and he died.
