Judges 6:10-14
New International Version
10 I said to you, ‘I am the Lord your God; do not worship(A) the gods of the Amorites,(B) in whose land you live.’ But you have not listened to me.”
11 The angel of the Lord(C) came and sat down under the oak in Ophrah(D) that belonged to Joash(E) the Abiezrite,(F) where his son Gideon(G) was threshing(H) wheat in a winepress(I) to keep it from the Midianites. 12 When the angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon, he said, “The Lord is with you,(J) mighty warrior.(K)”
13 “Pardon me, my lord,” Gideon replied, “but if the Lord is with us, why has all this happened to us? Where are all his wonders(L) that our ancestors told(M) us about when they said, ‘Did not the Lord bring us up out of Egypt?’ But now the Lord has abandoned(N) us and given us into the hand of Midian.”
14 The Lord turned to him and said, “Go in the strength you have(O) and save(P) Israel out of Midian’s hand. Am I not sending you?”
Psalm 103:1-13
New International Version
Psalm 103
Of David.
1 Praise the Lord,(A) my soul;(B)
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.(C)
2 Praise the Lord,(D) my soul,
and forget not(E) all his benefits—
3 who forgives all your sins(F)
and heals(G) all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life(H) from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,(I)
5 who satisfies(J) your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed(K) like the eagle’s.(L)
7 He made known(O) his ways(P) to Moses,
his deeds(Q) to the people of Israel:
8 The Lord is compassionate and gracious,(R)
slow to anger, abounding in love.
9 He will not always accuse,
nor will he harbor his anger forever;(S)
10 he does not treat us as our sins deserve(T)
or repay us according to our iniquities.
11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his love(U) for those who fear him;(V)
12 as far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our transgressions(W) from us.
13 As a father has compassion(X) on his children,
so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him;
Romans 5:6-11
New International Version
6 You see, at just the right time,(A) when we were still powerless,(B) Christ died for the ungodly.(C) 7 Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.(D)
9 Since we have now been justified(E) by his blood,(F) how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath(G) through him! 10 For if, while we were God’s enemies,(H) we were reconciled(I) to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!(J) 11 Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.(K)
