21 But Jael, the wife of Heber the Kenite, took in her hand a tent peg and a hammer, and she went softly[a] to him and drove the peg into his temple, and it went through into the ground; he was fast asleep since he was exhausted, and he died. 22 And behold, Barak was pursuing Sisera, and Jael went out to meet him, and she said to him, “Come, and I will show you the man whom you are seeking.” And he came with her and saw that Sisera was lying dead with the peg in his temple. 23 On that day God subdued Jabin king of Canaan before the Israelites.[b]

New International Version
21 But Jael,(A) Heber’s wife, picked up a tent peg and a hammer and went quietly to him while he lay fast asleep,(B) exhausted. She drove the peg through his temple into the ground, and he died.(C)
22 Just then Barak came by in pursuit of Sisera, and Jael(D) went out to meet him. “Come,” she said, “I will show you the man you’re looking for.” So he went in with her, and there lay Sisera with the tent peg through his temple—dead.(E)
23 On that day God subdued(F) Jabin(G) king of Canaan before the Israelites.
