16 while Barak pursued the chariots and the army to Harosheth-ha-goiim. All the army of Sisera fell by the sword; no one was left.

17 Now Sisera had fled away on foot to the tent of Jael wife of Heber the Kenite; for there was peace between King Jabin of Hazor and the clan of Heber the Kenite. 18 Jael came out to meet Sisera, and said to him, “Turn aside, my lord, turn aside to me; have no fear.” So he turned aside to her into the tent, and she covered him with a rug.

16 Barak och hans män förföljde armén och vagnarna ända till Haroset-Haggoim. Hela fiendehären utplånades, och inte en enda av Siseras soldater överlevde.

17 Under tiden hade Sisera flytt till det tält där Jael, kaineen Hebers hustru, bodde. Det fanns nämligen ett vänskapsfördrag mellan kung Jabin i Hasor och dem som tillhörde Hebers familj.

18 Jael gick ut för att möta Sisera och sa till honom: Kom in här i mitt tält. Här kan du känna dig trygg under vårt beskydd. Sisera gick in i tältet, och hon bredde en filt över honom.
