8 Then the anger of the Lord flamed out against Israel, and he let King Cushan-rishathaim of eastern Syria conquer them. They were under his rule for eight years. 9 But when Israel cried out to the Lord, he gave them Caleb’s nephew, Othniel (son of Kenaz, Caleb’s younger brother) to save them. 10 The Spirit of the Lord took control of him, and he reformed and purged Israel so that when he led the forces of Israel against the army of King Cushan-rishathaim, the Lord helped Israel conquer him completely.

8 Therefore the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel, and He (A)sold them into the hand of (B)Cushan-Rishathaim king of Mesopotamia; and the children of Israel served Cushan-Rishathaim eight years. 9 When the children of Israel (C)cried out to the Lord, the Lord (D)raised up a deliverer for the children of Israel, who delivered them: (E)Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb’s younger brother. 10 (F)The Spirit of the Lord came upon him, and he judged Israel. He went out to war, and the Lord delivered Cushan-Rishathaim king of Mesopotamia into his hand; and his hand prevailed over Cushan-Rishathaim.

And the people of Israel served Cushan-rishathaim eight years. 9 But when the people of Israel (C)cried out to the Lord, the Lord raised up a (D)deliverer for the people of Israel, who saved them, (E)Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother. 10 (F)The Spirit of the Lord was upon him, and he judged Israel.
