Judges 13:2-5

New International Version

²A certain man of Zorah,^(A) named Manoah,^(B) from the clan of the Danites,^(C) had a wife who was childless,^(D) unable to give birth. ³The angel of the Lord^(E) appeared to her^(F) and said, “You are barren and childless, but you are going to become pregnant and give birth to a son.^(G) ⁴Now see to it that you drink no wine or other fermented drink^(H) and that you do not eat anything unclean.^(I) ⁵You will become pregnant and have a son^(J) whose head is never to be touched by a razor^(K) because the boy is to be a Nazirite,^(L) dedicated to God from the womb. He will take the lead^(M) in delivering Israel from the hands of the Philistines.”

⁴⁶And Mary said:

“My soul glorifies the Lord^(B)
⁴⁷    and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,^(C)
⁴⁸for he has been mindful
    of the humble state of his servant.^(D)
From now on all generations will call me blessed,^(E)
⁴⁹    for the Mighty One has done great things^(F) for me—
    holy is his name.^(G)
⁵⁰His mercy extends to those who fear him,
    from generation to generation.^(H)
⁵¹He has performed mighty deeds with his arm;^(I)
    he has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts.^(J)
⁵²He has brought down rulers from their thrones

⁵³He has filled the hungry with good things^(L)
    but has sent the rich away empty.
⁵⁴He has helped his servant Israel,
