34 As for the tribe of Dan, the Amorites forced them into the hill country and wouldn’t let them come down into the valley; 35 but when the Amorites later spread into Mount Heres, Aijalon, and Shaalbim, the tribe of Joseph conquered them and made them their slaves. 36 The boundary of the Amorites begins at the ascent of Scorpion Pass, runs to a spot called The Rock, and continues upward from there.

New International Version
34 The Amorites(A) confined the Danites(B) to the hill country, not allowing them to come down into the plain.(C) 35 And the Amorites were determined also to hold out in Mount Heres,(D) Aijalon(E) and Shaalbim,(F) but when the power of the tribes of Joseph increased, they too were pressed into forced labor. 36 The boundary of the Amorites was from Scorpion Pass(G) to Sela(H) and beyond.(I)

34 And the Amorites forced the children of Dan into the mountains, for they would not allow them to come down to the valley; 35 and the Amorites were determined to dwell in Mount Heres, (A)in Aijalon, and in [a]Shaalbim; yet when the strength of the house of Joseph became greater, they [b]were put under tribute.
36 Now the boundary of the Amorites was (B)from the Ascent of Akrabbim, from Sela, and upward.
