Judges 9:3-5

3 And his mother’s [a]relatives spoke all these words on his behalf in the hearing of all the leaders of Shechem; and [b]they were inclined to follow Abimelech, for they said, “He is (A)our [c]relative.” 4 They gave him seventy pieces of silver from the house of (B)Baal-berith with which Abimelech hired worthless and reckless fellows, and they followed him. 5 Then he went to his father’s house at Ophrah and (C)killed his brothers the sons of Jerubbaal, (D)seventy men, on one stone. But Jotham the youngest son of Jerubbaal was left, for he hid himself.

Judges 9:3-5
New International Version
3 When the brothers repeated all this to the citizens of Shechem, they were inclined to follow Abimelek, for they said, “He is related to us.” 4 They gave him seventy shekels[a] of silver from the temple of Baal-Berith,(A) and Abimelek used it to hire reckless scoundrels,(B) who became his followers. 5 He went to his father’s home in Ophrah and on one stone murdered his seventy brothers,(C) the sons of Jerub-Baal. But Jotham,(D) the youngest son of Jerub-Baal, escaped by hiding.(E)
