¹⁷ for my father fought for you and ^[a]risked his life and delivered you from the hand of Midian;

⁴⁹ And David sent his hand down into his bag and took from it a stone and slung it and struck the Philistine on his forehead. And the stone sank into his forehead, so that he fell on his face to the ground.

⁵⁰ Thus David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone, and he struck the Philistine and put him to death; but there was no sword in David’s hand.

²¹ And the woman came to Saul and saw that he was terrified and said to him, “Behold, your servant-woman has listened to your voice, and ^(A)I have ^[a]taken my life in my hand and have listened to your words which you spoke to me.
