3 Sisera, who had 900 iron chariots, ruthlessly oppressed the Israelites for twenty years. Then the people of Israel cried out to the Lord for help.
4 Deborah, the wife of Lappidoth, was a prophet who was judging Israel at that time. 5 She would sit under the Palm of Deborah, between Ramah and Bethel in the hill country of Ephraim, and the Israelites would go to her for judgment.

3 Because he had nine hundred chariots fitted with iron(A) and had cruelly oppressed(B) the Israelites for twenty years, they cried to the Lord for help.
4 Now Deborah,(C) a prophet,(D) the wife of Lappidoth, was leading[a] Israel at that time. 5 She held court(E) under the Palm of Deborah between Ramah(F) and Bethel(G) in the hill country of Ephraim, and the Israelites went up to her to have their disputes decided.
