10 (A)And the Spirit of Yahweh came upon him, and he judged Israel. And he went out to war, and Yahweh gave Cushan-rishathaim king of [a]Mesopotamia into his hand. So his hand was strong against Cushan-rishathaim. 11 Then the land was quiet for forty years. And Othniel the son of Kenaz died.
12 Then the sons of Israel again (B)did what was evil in the eyes of Yahweh. So (C)Yahweh strengthened Eglon the king of Moab against Israel because they had done what was evil in the eyes of Yahweh.

10 The Spirit of the Lord came on him,(A) so that he became Israel’s judge[a] and went to war. The Lord gave Cushan-Rishathaim(B) king of Aram(C) into the hands of Othniel, who overpowered him. 11 So the land had peace(D) for forty years,(E) until Othniel son of Kenaz(F) died.
