20 The Lord was furious with Israel.[a] He said, “This nation[b] has violated the terms of the covenant I made with their ancestors[c] by disobeying me.[d] 21 So I will no longer remove before them any of the nations that Joshua left unconquered when he died,

New International Version
20 Therefore the Lord was very angry(A) with Israel and said, “Because this nation has violated the covenant(B) I ordained for their ancestors and has not listened to me, 21 I will no longer drive out(C) before them any of the nations Joshua left when he died.
