The Lord Raises Up Judges
16 (A)Then the Lord raised up judges, (B)who saved them out of the hand of those who plundered them. 17 Yet they did not listen to their judges, for (C)they whored after other gods and bowed down to them. (D)They soon turned aside from the way in which their fathers had walked, who had obeyed the commandments of the Lord, and they did not do so.

16 Then the Lord raised up judges,[a](A) who saved(B) them out of the hands of these raiders. 17 Yet they would not listen to their judges but prostituted(C) themselves to other gods(D) and worshiped them.(E) They quickly turned(F) from the ways of their ancestors, who had been obedient to the Lord’s commands.(G)
