24 So the woman gave birth to a son, and named him Samson; and the (A)child grew up and the Lord blessed him. 25 And (B)the Spirit of the Lord began to stir him when he was in [a](C)Mahaneh-dan, between Zorah and Eshtaol.

Samson’s Marriage

14 Then Samson went down to Timnah, and he saw a woman in Timnah, one of the daughters of the Philistines. So he came [b]back and told his father and [c]mother, “I saw a woman in Timnah, one of the daughters of the Philistines; so now, get her for me as a wife.” But his father and his mother said to him, “Is there no woman among the daughters of your (D)relatives, or among all [d]our people, that you go to (E)take a wife from the uncircumcised Philistines?” Yet Samson said to his father, “Get her for me, because she is right [e]for me.” However, his father and mother did not know that (F)this was of the Lord, for He was seeking an occasion against the Philistines. And at that time the Philistines were ruling over Israel.

24 The woman gave birth to a boy and named him Samson.(A) He grew(B) and the Lord blessed him,(C) 25 and the Spirit of the Lord began to stir(D) him while he was in Mahaneh Dan,(E) between Zorah and Eshtaol.

Samson’s Marriage

14 Samson(F) went down to Timnah(G) and saw there a young Philistine woman. When he returned, he said to his father and mother, “I have seen a Philistine woman in Timnah; now get her for me as my wife.”(H)

His father and mother replied, “Isn’t there an acceptable woman among your relatives or among all our people?(I) Must you go to the uncircumcised(J) Philistines to get a wife?(K)

But Samson said to his father, “Get her for me. She’s the right one for me.” (His parents did not know that this was from the Lord,(L) who was seeking an occasion to confront the Philistines;(M) for at that time they were ruling over Israel.)(N)
