7 On a hill east(A) of Jerusalem, Solomon built a high place for Chemosh(B) the detestable god of Moab, and for Molek(C) the detestable god of the Ammonites.

33 For they have abandoned me; they have bowed down to Ashtoreth, the goddess of the Sidonians, to Chemosh, the god of Moab, and to Milcom, the god of the Ammonites.(A) They have not walked in my ways to do what is right in my sight and to carry out my statutes and my judgments as his father David did.(B)

New International Version
33 I will do this because they have[a] forsaken me and worshiped(A) Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians, Chemosh the god of the Moabites, and Molek the god of the Ammonites, and have not walked(B) in obedience to me, nor done what is right in my eyes, nor kept my decrees(C) and laws as David, Solomon’s father, did.

because fire has come out from Heshbon
and a flame from within Sihon.
It will devour Moab’s forehead
and the skull of the noisemakers.
46 Woe to you, Moab!
The people of Chemosh have perished
because your sons have been taken captive
and your daughters have gone into captivity.(A)
47 Yet, I will restore the fortunes[a] of Moab in the last days.(B)
This is the Lord’s declaration.

The people of Chemosh are destroyed;
your sons are taken into exile
and your daughters into captivity.
47 “Yet I will restore(D) the fortunes of Moab
in days to come,”
declares the Lord.
