¹¹ and you shall ^(A)hear what they say; and afterward ^[a]your hands shall be strengthened to go down against the camp.” Then he went down with Purah his servant to the outpost of the armed men who were in the camp.

The Whole Armor of God

¹⁰ Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.

¹³ I can do all things ^(A)through ^[a]Christ who strengthens me.

⁹ And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly ^(A)I will rather boast in my infirmities, ^(B)that the power of Christ may rest upon me. ¹⁰ Therefore ^(C)I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. ^(D)For when I am weak, then I am strong.

²² And they kept the ^(A)Feast of Unleavened Bread seven days with joy; for the Lord made them joyful, and ^(B)turned the heart ^(C)of the king of Assyria toward them, to strengthen their hands in the work of the house of God, the God of Israel.

¹⁶ Then Jonathan, Saul’s son, arose and went to David in the woods and ^[a]strengthened his hand in God.

⁸ Then Jonathan said, “Very well, let us cross over to these men, and we will show ourselves to them. ⁹ If they say thus to us, ‘Wait until we come to you,’ then we will stand still in our place and not go up to them. ¹⁰ But if they say thus, ‘Come up to us,’ then we will go up. For the Lord has delivered them into our hand, and ^(A)this will be a sign to us.”

¹³ And when Gideon had come, there was a man telling a dream to his companion. He said, “I have had a dream: To my surprise, a loaf of barley bread tumbled into the camp of Midian; it came to a tent and struck it so that it fell and overturned, and the tent collapsed.”

¹⁴ Then his companion answered and said, “This is nothing else but the sword of Gideon the son of Joash, a man of Israel! Into his hand ^(A)God has delivered Midian and the whole camp.”

¹⁵ And so it was, when Gideon heard the telling of the dream and its interpretation, that he worshiped. He returned to the camp of Israel, and said, “Arise, for the Lord has delivered the camp of Midian into your hand.”
