¹¹ Now Heber ^(A)the Kenite, of the children of ^(B)Hobab the father-in-law of Moses, had separated himself from the Kenites and pitched his tent near the terebinth tree at Zaanaim, ^(C)which is beside Kedesh.

^16 (A)Now the children of the Kenite, Moses’ father-in-law, went up ^(B)from the City of Palms with the children of Judah into the Wilderness of Judah, which lies in the South near ^(C)Arad; ^(D)and they went and dwelt among the people.

³³ And their border began at Heleph, enclosing the territory from the terebinth tree in Zaanannim, Adami Nekeb, and Jabneel, as far as Lakkum; ^[a]it ended at the Jordan.

²⁹ Now Moses said to ^(A)Hobab the son of ^(B)Reuel^[a] the Midianite, Moses’ father-in-law, “We are setting out for the place of which the Lord said, ^(C)‘I will give it to you.’ Come with us, and ^(D)we will treat you well; for ^(E)the Lord has promised good things to Israel.”

3 Now Moses was tending the flock of ^(B)Jethro his father-in-law, ^(C)the priest of Midian. And he led the flock to the back of the desert, and came to ^(D)Horeb, ^(E)the mountain of God.

⁶ Then she sent and called for ^(A)Barak the son of Abinoam from ^(B)Kedesh in Naphtali, and said to him, “Has not the Lord God of Israel commanded, ‘Go and ^[a]deploy troops at Mount ^(C)Tabor; take with you ten thousand men of the sons of Naphtali and of the sons of Zebulun;

²¹ Then he looked on the Kenites, and he took up his oracle and said:

Jethro’s Advice^(A)

18 And ^(B)Jethro, the priest of Midian, Moses’ father-in-law, heard of all that ^(C)God had done for Moses and for Israel His people—that the Lord had brought Israel out of Egypt.
