¹⁰ When all that generation had ^[a]been gathered to their fathers, another generation arose after them who ^(A)did not know the Lord nor the work which He had done for Israel.

The Wicked Sons of Eli

¹² Now the sons of Eli were ^(A)corrupt;^{[a] (B)}they did not know the Lord.

¹⁶ They profess to ^(A)know God, but ^(B)in works they deny Him, being ^[a]abominable, disobedient, ^(C)and disqualified for every good work.

² And Pharaoh said, ^(A)“Who is the Lord, that I should obey His voice to let Israel go? I do not know the Lord, ^(B)nor will I let Israel go.”

³⁶ “For David, after he had served ^[a]his own generation by the will of God, ^(A)fell asleep, was buried with his fathers, and ^[b]saw corruption;

³⁴ No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for ^(A)they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the Lord. For ^(B)I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”

⁹ “As for you, my son Solomon, ^(A)know the God of your father, and serve Him ^(B)with a loyal heart and with a willing mind; for ^(C)the Lord searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts. ^(D)If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will ^(E)cast you off forever.

^12 (A)“When your days are fulfilled and you ^(B)rest with your fathers, ^(C)I will set up your seed after you, who will come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom.
