¹⁹ And they said to him, “Be quiet, ^(A)put your hand over your mouth, and come with us; ^(B)be a father and a priest to us. Is it better for you to be a priest to the household of one man, or that you be a priest to a tribe and a family in Israel?”

¹⁰ Micah said to him, “Dwell with me, ^(A)and be a ^(B)father and a priest to me, and I will give you ten shekels of silver per year, a suit of clothes, and your sustenance.” So the Levite went in.

⁹ Do not call anyone on earth your father; ^(A)for One is your Father, He who is in heaven.

Death of Elisha

¹⁴ Elisha had become sick with the illness of which he would die. Then Joash the king of Israel came down to him, and wept over his face, and said, “O my father, my father, ^(A)the chariots of Israel and their horsemen!”

⁸ And the king said to ^(A)Hazael, ^(B)“Take a present in your hand, and go to meet the man of God, and ^(C)inquire of the Lord by him, saying, ‘Shall I recover from this disease?’ ” ⁹ So ^(D)Hazael went to meet him and took a present with him, of every good thing of Damascus, forty camel-loads; and he came and stood before him, and said, “Your son Ben-Hadad king of Syria has sent me to you, saying, ‘Shall I recover from this disease?’ ”
