The Danites Adopt Micah’s Idolatry

18 In ^(A)those days there was no king in Israel. And in those days ^(B)the tribe of the Danites was seeking an inheritance for itself to dwell in; for until that day their inheritance among the tribes of Israel had not fallen to them.

^6 (A)In those days there was no king in Israel; ^(B)everyone did what was right in his own eyes.

The Levite’s Concubine

19 And it came to pass in those days, ^(A)when there was no king in Israel, that there was a certain Levite staying in the remote mountains of Ephraim. He took for himself a concubine from ^(B)Bethlehem in Judah.

³⁴ And the Amorites forced the children of Dan into the mountains, for they would not allow them to come down to the valley;

^25 (A)In those days there was no king in Israel; ^(B)everyone did what was right in his own eyes.

The Land of Dan

^40 (A)The seventh lot came out for the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families. ⁴¹ And the territory of their inheritance was Zorah, ^(B)Eshtaol, Ir Shemesh, ^42 (C)Shaalabbin, ^(D)Aijalon, Jethlah, ⁴³ Elon, Timnah, ^(E)Ekron, ⁴⁴ Eltekeh, Gibbethon, Baalath, ⁴⁵ Jehud, Bene Berak, Gath Rimmon, ⁴⁶ Me Jarkon, and Rakkon, with the region ^[a]near ^[b]Joppa. ⁴⁷ And the ^(F)border of the children of Dan went beyond these, because the children of Dan went up to fight against Leshem and took it; and they struck it with the edge of the sword, took possession of it, and dwelt in it. They called Leshem, ^(G)Dan, after the name of Dan their father. ⁴⁸ This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families, these cities with their villages.
