³⁰ Then Samson said, “Let me die with the Philistines!” And he pushed with all his might, and the temple fell on the lords and all the people who were in it. So the dead that he killed at his death were more than he had killed in his life.

⁸ And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and ^(A)became ^(B)obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.

²⁵ For ^(A)whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.

The Race of Faith

12 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, ^(A)let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and ^(B)let us run ^(C)with endurance the race that is set before us, ² looking unto Jesus, the ^[a]author and ^[b]finisher of our faith, ^(D)who for the joy that was set before Him ^(E)endured the cross, despising the shame, and ^(F)has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

The Discipline of God^(G)

^3 (H)For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, ^(I)lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls. ^4 (J)You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin.

¹⁴ Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He ^(A)Himself likewise shared in the same, ^(B)that through death He might destroy him who had the power of ^(C)death, that is, the devil, ¹⁵ and release those who ^(D)through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

² For you yourselves know perfectly that ^(A)the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night.

^15 (A)Having disarmed ^(B)principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.

³⁰ because for the work of Christ he came close to death, ^[a]not regarding his life, ^(A)to supply what was lacking in your service toward me.

¹⁷ Yes, and if ^(A)I am being poured out as a drink offering on the sacrifice ^(B)and service of your faith, ^(C)I am glad and rejoice with you all.
