Samson Defeats the Philistines

15 After some days, at the time of wheat harvest, Samson went to visit his wife with ^(A)a young goat. And he said, “I will go in to my wife in the chamber.” But her father would not allow him to go in.

¹⁷ He answered, “I will send you a young goat from the flock.” And she said, “If you give me a pledge, until you send it—”

²⁹ but he answered his father, ‘Look, these many years I have served you, and I never disobeyed your command, yet you never gave me a young goat, that I might ^(A)celebrate with my friends.

²¹ Then Jacob said to Laban, “Give me my wife that I may go in to her, for my time is completed.”

⁴ The Nephilim^[a] were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. These were the mighty men who were of old, the men of renown.
