¹⁷ She wept before him the seven days that their feast lasted, and on the seventh day he told her, because ^(A)she pressed him hard. Then she told the riddle to her people.

¹⁶ And ^(A)when she pressed him hard with her words day after day, and urged him, his soul was vexed to death.

⁴ For a while he refused, but afterward he said to himself, ^(A)‘Though I neither fear God nor respect man, ⁵ yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will give her justice, so that she will not beat me down by her continual coming.’”

⁸ I tell you, though he will not get up and give him anything ^(A)because he is his friend, yet because of his impudence^[a] he will rise and give him whatever he needs.

⁹ Then his wife said to him, “Do you still ^(A)hold fast your integrity? ^(B)Curse God and die.”

¹³ Then Delilah said to Samson, “Until now you have mocked me and told me lies. Tell me how you might be bound.” And he said to her, “If you weave the seven locks of my head with the web and fasten it tight with the pin, then I shall become weak and be like any other man.”

⁶ So Delilah said to Samson, “Please tell me where your great strength lies, and how you might be bound, that one could ^(A)subdue you.”

⁶ So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise,^[a] she took of its fruit ^(A)and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, ^(B)and he ate.
