⁴ Now therefore, please be careful ^(A)not to drink wine or similar drink, and not to eat anything unclean.

¹⁵ For he will be ^(A)great in the sight of the Lord, and ^(B)shall drink neither wine nor strong drink. He will also be filled with the Holy Spirit, ^(C)even from his mother’s womb.

¹⁴ She may not eat anything that comes from the vine, ^(A)nor may she drink wine or similar drink, nor eat anything unclean. All that I commanded her let her observe.”

² “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘When either a man or woman ^[a]consecrates an offering to take the vow of a Nazirite, ^(A)to separate himself to the Lord, ^3 (B)he shall separate himself from wine and similar drink; he shall drink neither vinegar made from wine nor vinegar made from similar drink; neither shall he drink any grape juice, nor eat fresh grapes or raisins.

⁷ And He said to me, ‘Behold, you shall conceive and bear a son. Now drink no wine or similar drink, nor eat anything unclean, for the child shall be a Nazirite to God from the womb to the day of his death.’ ”

¹⁴ But Peter said, “Not so, Lord! ^(A)For I have never eaten anything common or unclean.”

^47 (A)to distinguish between the unclean and the clean, and between the animal that may be eaten and the animal that may not be eaten.’ ”

²⁷ And whatever goes on its paws, among all kinds of animals that go on all fours, those are unclean to you. Whoever touches any such carcass shall be unclean until evening.
