⁷ Adoni-bezek said, “Seventy kings with their thumbs and big toes cut off used to pick up scraps under my table; as I have done, so God has paid me back.” They brought him to Jerusalem, and he died there.

³³ Samuel said,

And Samuel hewed Agag in pieces before the Lord in Gilgal.^(A)

Here is a call for the endurance and faith of the saints.^(A)

¹³ For judgment will be without mercy to anyone who has shown no mercy; mercy triumphs over judgment.^(A)

Judging Others

³⁷ “Do not judge, and you will not be judged; do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven;^{(A) 38} give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap, for the measure you give will be the measure you get back.”^(B)

Judging Others

7 “Do not judge, so that you may not be judged.^{(A) 2} For the judgment you give will be the judgment you get, and the measure you give will be the measure you get.

¹⁹ Anyone who maims another shall suffer the same injury in return: ²⁰ fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth; the injury inflicted is the injury to be suffered.^{(A) 21} One who kills an animal shall make restitution for it, but one who kills a human being shall be put to death.^(B)

¹⁵ They show that what the law requires is written on their hearts, as their own conscience also bears witness, and their conflicting thoughts will accuse or perhaps excuse them

²³ If any harm follows, then you shall give life for life,^{(A) 24} eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,^{(B) 25} burn for burn, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.
