⁵ And he went to his father's house at ^(A)Ophrah ^(B)and killed his brothers the sons of Jerubbaal, seventy men, on one stone. But Jotham the youngest son of Jerubbaal was left, for he hid himself.

Athaliah Reigns in Judah

11 ^(A)Now when ^(B)Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the royal family. ² But Jehosheba, the daughter of King Joram, sister of Ahaziah, took ^(C)Joash the son of Ahaziah and stole him away from among the king's sons who were being put to death, and she put^[a] him and his nurse in a bedroom. Thus they^[b] hid him from Athaliah, so that he was not put to death.

⁴ When Jehoram had ascended the throne of his father and was established, he killed all his brothers with the sword, and also some of the princes of ^(A)Israel.

²⁴ Then Gideon built an altar there to the Lord and called it, ^(A)The Lord Is Peace. To this day it still stands at ^(B)Ophrah, which belongs to the Abiezrites.

²⁰ saying, “Rise, take the child and his mother and go to the land of Israel, for ^(A)those who sought the child's life are dead.”
