²⁴ Then Gideon said to them, “I would like to ^[a]make a request of you, that each of you would give me the earrings from his plunder.” For they had golden earrings, ^(A)because they were Ishmaelites.

¹³ And ^(A)these were the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their generations: The firstborn of Ishmael, Nebajoth; then Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam,

²⁸ Then ^(A)Midianite traders passed by; so the brothers pulled Joseph up and lifted him out of the pit, ^(B)and sold him to the Ishmaelites for ^(C)twenty shekels of silver. And they took Joseph to Egypt.

^25 (A)And they sat down to eat a meal. Then they lifted their eyes and looked, and there was a company of ^(B)Ishmaelites, coming from Gilead with their camels, bearing spices, ^(C)balm, and myrrh, on their way to carry them down to Egypt.
