^14 (A)And the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel. So He ^(B)delivered them into the hands of plunderers who despoiled them; and ^(C)He sold them into the hands of their enemies all around, so that they ^(D)could no longer stand before their enemies.

²⁰ And the Lord rejected all the descendants of Israel, afflicted them, and ^(A)delivered them into the hand of plunderers, until He had cast them from His ^(B)sight.

^12 (A)Therefore the children of Israel could not stand before their enemies, but turned their backs before their enemies, because ^(B)they have become doomed to destruction. Neither will I be with you anymore, unless you destroy the accursed from among you. ¹³ Get up, ^(C)sanctify^[a] the people, and say, ^(D)‘Sanctify yourselves for tomorrow, because thus says the Lord God of Israel: “There is an accursed thing in your midst, O Israel; you cannot stand before your enemies until you take away the accursed thing from among you.”
