(A)Likewise also these dreamers defile the flesh, reject authority, and (B)speak evil of [a]dignitaries. Yet Michael the archangel, in [b]contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a reviling accusation, but said, (C)“The Lord rebuke you!” 10 (D)But these speak evil of whatever they do not know; and whatever they know naturally, like brute beasts, in these things they corrupt themselves. 11 Woe to them! For they have gone in the way (E)of Cain, (F)have run greedily in the error of Balaam for profit, and perished (G)in the rebellion of Korah.

Apostates Depraved and Doomed

12 These are [c]spots in your love feasts, while they feast with you without fear, serving only themselves. They are clouds without water, carried [d]about by the winds; late autumn trees without fruit, twice dead, pulled up by the roots; 13 (H)raging waves of the sea, (I)foaming up their own shame; wandering stars (J)for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever.

But Michael the archangel, when he argued with the devil, disputing concerning the body of Moses, did not dare to pronounce a blasphemous judgment, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!” 10 But these persons blaspheme all that they do not understand, and all that they understand by instinct like the irrational animals, by these things they are being destroyed. 11 Woe to them! For they have traveled in the way of Cain, and have given themselves up to the error of Balaam for gain, and have perished[b] in the rebellion of Korah. 12 These are the ones feasting together without reverence, hidden reefs at your love feasts, caring for themselves, waterless clouds carried away by winds, late autumn trees without fruit, twice dead, uprooted, 13 wild waves of the sea foaming up their own shameful deeds, wandering stars, for whom the deep gloom of darkness has been reserved for eternity.
