21 DESPUÉS se manifestó Jesús otra vez á sus discípulos en la mar de Tiberias; y manifestóse de esta manera.
2 Estaban juntos Simón Pedro, y Tomás, llamado al Dídimo, y Natanael, el que era de Caná de Galilea, y los hijos de Zebedeo, y otros dos de sus discípulos.
3 Díceles Simón: A pescar voy. Dícenle: Vamos nosotros también contigo. Fueron, y subieron en una barca; y aquella noche no cogieron nada.
4 Y venida la mañana, Jesús se puso á la ribera: mas los discípulos no entendieron que era Jesús.
5 Y díjoles: Mozos, ¿tenéis algo de comer? Respondiéronle: No.
6 Y él les dice: Echad la red á la mano derecha del barco, y hallaréis. Entonces la echaron, y no la podían en ninguna manera sacar, por la multitud de los peces.
7 Entonces aquel discípulo, al cual amaba Jesús, dijo á Pedro: El Señor es. Y Simón Pedro, como oyó que era el Señor, ciñóse la ropa, porque estaba desnudo, y echóse á la mar.
8 Y los otros discípulos vinieron con el barco (porque no estaban lejos de tierra sino como doscientos codos), trayendo la red de peces.
9 Y como descendieron á tierra, vieron ascuas puestas, y un pez encima de ellas, y pan.
10 Díceles Jesús; Traed de los peces que cogisteis ahora.
11 Subió Simón Pedro, y trajo la red á tierra, llena de grandes peces, ciento cincuenta y tres: y siendo tantos, la red no se rompió.
12 Díceles Jesús: Venid, comed. Y ninguno de los discípulos osaba preguntarle: ¿Tú, quién eres? sabiendo que era el Señor.
13 Viene pues Jesús, y toma el pan, y les da; y asimismo del pez.
14 Esta era ya la tercera vez que Jesús se manifestó á sus discípulos, habiendo resucitado de los muertos.
15 Y cuando hubieron comido, Jesús dijo á Simón Pedro: Simón, hijo de Jonás, ¿me amas más que estos? Dícele; Sí Señor: tú sabes que te amo. Dícele: Apacienta mis corderos.
16 Vuélvele á decir la segunda vez: Simón, hijo de Jonás, ¿me amas? Respóndele: Sí, Señor: tú sabes que te amo. Dícele: Apacienta mis ovejas.
17 Dícele la tercera vez: Simón, hijo de Jonás, ¿me amas? Entristecióse Pedro de que le dijese la tercera vez: ¿Me amas? y dícele: Señor, tú sabes todas las cosas; tú sabes que te amo. Dícele Jesús: Apacienta mis ovejas.
18 De cierto, de cierto te digo: Cuando eras más mozo, te ceñías, é ibas donde querías; mas cuando ya fueres viejo, extenderás tus manos, y te ceñirá otro, y te llevará á donde no quieras.
19 Y esto dijo, dando á entender con qué muerte había de glorificar á Dios. Y dicho esto, dícele: Sígueme.
20 Volviéndose Pedro, ve á aquel discípulo al cual amaba Jesús, que seguía, el que también se había recostado á su pecho en la cena, y le había dicho: Señor, ¿quién es el que te ha de entregar?
21 Así que Pedro vió á éste, dice á Jesús: Señor, ¿y éste, qué?
22 Dícele Jesús: Si quiero que él quede hasta que yo venga, ¿qué á tí? Sígueme tú.
23 Salió entonces este dicho entre los hermanos, que aquel discípulo no había de morir. Mas Jesús no le dijo, No morirá; sino: Si quiero que él quede hasta que yo venga ¿qué á ti?
24 Este es aquel discípulo que da testimonio de estas cosas, y escribió estas cosas: y sabemos que su testimonio es verdadero.
25 Y hay también otras muchas cosas que hizo Jesús, que si se escribiesen cada una por sí, ni aun en el mundo pienso que cabrían los libros que se habrían de escribir. Amén.

Jesus Appears to the Disciples in Galilee
21 After these things Jesus revealed himself again to the disciples by the Sea of Tiberias. Now he revealed himself[a] in this way: 2 Simon Peter and Thomas (who was called Didymus)[b] and Nathanael from Cana in Galilee and the sons of Zebedee and two others of his disciples were together. 3 Simon Peter said to them, “I am going fishing!” They said to him, “We also are coming with you.” They went out and got into the boat, and during that night they caught nothing.
4 Now when it[c] was already early morning, Jesus stood on the beach. However, the disciples did not know that it was Jesus. 5 So Jesus said to them, “Children, you do not have any fish to eat, do you?[d] They answered him, “No.” 6 And he said to them, “Throw the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.”[e] So they threw it,[f] and were no longer able to haul it in from the large number of the fish.
7 Then that disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” So Simon Peter, when he[g] heard that it was the Lord, tied around himself his outer garment (for he was naked)[h] and threw himself into the sea. 8 But the other disciples came in the boat, dragging the net of fish, because they were not far from the land, but about two hundred cubits[i] away.
9 So when they got out on the land, they saw a charcoal fire laid there, and a fish lying on it,[j] and bread. 10 Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish that you have just now caught.” 11 So Simon Peter got into the boat[k] and hauled the net to the land, full of large fish—one hundred fifty-three—and although there[l] were so many, the net was not torn. 12 Jesus said to them, “Come, eat breakfast!” But none of the disciples dared to ask him, “Who are you?” because they[m] knew that it was the Lord. 13 Jesus came and took the bread and gave it[n] to them, and the fish likewise. 14 This was now the third time Jesus was revealed to the disciples after he[o] had been raised from the dead.
Peter Is Restored Three Times
15 Now when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Feed my lambs!” 16 He said to him again a second time, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Shepherd my sheep!” 17 He said to him a third time, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was distressed because he said to him a third time, “Do you love me?” and he said to him, “Lord, you know everything! You know that I love you!” Jesus said to him, “Feed my sheep! 18 Truly, truly I say to you, when you were young, you tied your clothes[p] around yourself and walked wherever you wanted. But when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will tie you up and carry you where you do not want to go.[q] 19 (Now he said this to indicate by what kind of death he would glorify God.) And after he[r] had said this, he said to him, “Follow me!”
Peter and the Other Disciple Jesus Loved
20 Peter turned and[s] saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following them[t] (who also leaned back on his chest at the dinner and said, “Lord, who is the one betraying you?”) 21 So when he[u] saw this one, Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, but what about this one?” 22 Jesus said to him, “If I want him to remain until I come, what is that[v] to you? You follow me!” 23 So this saying went out to the brothers that that disciple would not die. But Jesus did not say to him that he would not die, but “If I want him to remain until I come, what is that[w] to you?”
A Concluding Word of Testimony
24 This is the disciple who is testifying about these things, and who has written down these things. And we know that his testimony is true. 25 Now there are also many other things that Jesus did, which—if they were written down one after the other—I suppose not even the world itself could contain the books that would be written.

21 After this, Yeshua appeared again to the talmidim at Lake Tiberias. Here is how it happened: 2 Shim‘on Kefa and T’oma (his name means “twin”) were together with Natan’el from Kanah in the Galil, the sons of Zavdai, and two other talmidim. 3 Shim‘on Kefa said, “I’m going fishing.” They said to him, “We’re coming with you.” They went and got into the boat, but that night they didn’t catch anything. 4 However, just as day was breaking, Yeshua stood on shore, but the talmidim didn’t know it was he. 5 He said to them, “You don’t have any fish, do you?” “No,” they answered him. 6 He said to them, “Throw in your net to starboard and you will catch some.” So they threw in their net, and there were so many fish in it that they couldn’t haul it aboard. 7 The talmid Yeshua loved said to Kefa, “It’s the Lord!” On hearing it was the Lord, Shim‘on Kefa threw on his coat, because he was stripped for work, and plunged into the lake; 8 but the other talmidim followed in the boat, dragging the net full of fish; for they weren’t far from shore, only about a hundred yards. 9 When they stepped ashore, they saw a fire of burning coals with a fish on it, and some bread. 10 Yeshua said to them, “Bring some of the fish you have just caught.” 11 Shim‘on Kefa went up and dragged the net ashore. It was full of fish, 153 of them; but even with so many, the net wasn’t torn. 12 Yeshua said to them, “Come and have breakfast.” None of the talmidim dared to ask him, “Who are you?” They knew it was the Lord. 13 Yeshua came, took the bread and gave it to them, and did the same with the fish. 14 This was now the third time Yeshua had appeared to the talmidim after being raised from the dead.
15 After breakfast, Yeshua said to Shim‘on Kefa, “Shim‘on Bar-Yochanan, do you love me more than these?” He replied, “Yes, Lord, you know I’m your friend.” He said to him, “Feed my lambs.” 16 A second time he said to him, “Shim‘on Bar-Yochanan, do you love me?” He replied, “Yes, Lord, you know I’m your friend.” He said to him, “Shepherd my sheep.” 17 The third time he said to him, “Shim‘on Bar-Yochanan, are you my friend?” Shim‘on was hurt that he questioned him a third time: “Are you my friend?” So he replied, “Lord, you know everything! You know I’m your friend!” Yeshua said to him, “Feed my sheep! 18 Yes, indeed! I tell you, when you were younger, you put on your clothes and went where you wanted. But when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and carry you where you do not want to go.” 19 He said this to indicate the kind of death by which Kefa would bring glory to God. Then Yeshua said to him, “Follow me!”
20 Kefa turned and saw the talmid Yeshua especially loved following behind, the one who had leaned against him at the supper and had asked, “Who is the one who is betraying you?” 21 On seeing him, Kefa said to Yeshua, “Lord, what about him?” 22 Yeshua said to him, “If I want him to stay on until I come, what is it to you? You, follow me!” 23 Therefore the word spread among the brothers that that talmid would not die. However, Yeshua didn’t say he wouldn’t die, but simply, “If I want him to stay on until I come, what is it to you?”
24 This one is the talmid who is testifying about these things and who has recorded them.
And we know that his testimony is true.
25 But there are also many other things Yeshua did; and if they were all to be recorded, I don’t think the whole world could contain the books that would have to be written!

Jesus and the Miraculous Catch of Fish
21 Afterward Jesus appeared again to his disciples,(A) by the Sea of Galilee.[a](B) It happened this way: 2 Simon Peter, Thomas(C) (also known as Didymus[b]), Nathanael(D) from Cana in Galilee,(E) the sons of Zebedee,(F) and two other disciples were together. 3 “I’m going out to fish,” Simon Peter told them, and they said, “We’ll go with you.” So they went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing.(G)
4 Early in the morning, Jesus stood on the shore, but the disciples did not realize that it was Jesus.(H)
5 He called out to them, “Friends, haven’t you any fish?”
“No,” they answered.
6 He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.(I)
7 Then the disciple whom Jesus loved(J) said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” As soon as Simon Peter heard him say, “It is the Lord,” he wrapped his outer garment around him (for he had taken it off) and jumped into the water. 8 The other disciples followed in the boat, towing the net full of fish, for they were not far from shore, about a hundred yards.[c] 9 When they landed, they saw a fire(K) of burning coals there with fish on it,(L) and some bread.
10 Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish you have just caught.” 11 So Simon Peter climbed back into the boat and dragged the net ashore. Jesus Reinstates Peter
15 When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?”
“Yes, Lord,” he said, “you know that I love you.”(O)
Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.”(P)
16 Again Jesus said, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”
He answered, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.”
Jesus said, “Take care of my sheep.”(Q)
17 The third time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”
Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?”(R) He said, “Lord, you know all things;(S) you know that I love you.”
Jesus said, “Feed my sheep.(T) 18 Very truly I tell you, when you were younger you dressed yourself and went where you wanted; but when you are old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go.” 19 Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death(U) by which Peter would glorify God.(V) Then he said to him, “Follow me!”(W)
20 Peter turned and saw that the disciple whom Jesus loved(X) was following them. (This was the one who had leaned back against Jesus at the supper and had said, “Lord, who is going to betray you?”)(Y) 21 When Peter saw him, he asked, “Lord, what about him?”
22 Jesus answered, “If I want him to remain alive until I return,(Z) what is that to you? You must follow me.”(AA) 23 Because of this, the rumor spread among the believers(AB) that this disciple would not die. But Jesus did not say that he would not die; he only said, “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you?”
24 This is the disciple who testifies to these things(AC) and who wrote them down. We know that his testimony is true.(AD)
25 Jesus did many other things as well.(AE) If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.
