Ang Tunay na Puno ng Ubas
15 “Ako ang tunay na puno ng ubas at ang aking Ama ang tagapag-alaga. 2 Inaalis niya ang bawat sangang hindi nagbubunga, at kanya namang pinuputulan at nililinis ang bawat sangang nagbubunga upang magbunga pa nang lalong sagana. 3 Nalinis na kayo sa pamamagitan ng salitang sinabi ko sa inyo. 4 Manatili kayo sa akin at mananatili din ako sa inyo. Hindi magbubunga ang sangang hindi nananatili sa puno. Gayundin naman, hindi kayo magbubunga kung hindi kayo mananatili sa akin.
5 “Ako ang puno ng ubas at kayo ang mga sanga. Ang nananatili sa akin, at ako sa kanya, ang siyang nagbubunga nang sagana, sapagkat wala kayong magagawa kung kayo'y hiwalay sa akin. 6 Ang hindi nananatili sa akin, gaya ng sanga ay itinatapon at natutuyo. Ang ganoong mga sanga ay tinitipon, inihahagis sa apoy at nasusunog. 7 Kung nananatili kayo sa akin at nananatili sa inyo ang aking mga salita, hingin ninyo ang anumang nais ninyo at matutupad iyon para sa inyo. 8 Napaparangalan ang aking Ama kung kayo'y masaganang nagbubunga at sa gayon kayo'y magiging mga alagad ko. 9 Kung paanong inibig ako ng Ama, gayundin naman, iniibig ko kayo; manatili kayo sa aking pag-ibig. 10 Kung tinutupad ninyo ang aking mga utos, mananatili kayo sa aking pag-ibig, kung paanong tinupad ko ang mga utos ng aking Ama at ako'y nananatili sa kanyang pag-ibig.
11 “Sinabi ko sa inyo ang mga bagay na ito upang mapasainyo ang kagalakan ko at nang sa gayon ay malubos ang inyong kagalakan. 12 Ito(A) ang aking utos: magmahalan kayo gaya ng pagmamahal ko sa inyo. 13 Ang pinakadakilang pag-ibig na maaaring taglayin ng sinuman para sa kanyang mga kaibigan ay ang ialay ang kanyang buhay para sa kanila. 14 Kayo'y mga kaibigan ko kung tinutupad ninyo ang aking mga utos. 15 Hindi ko na kayo itinuturing na mga alipin, sapagkat hindi alam ng alipin ang ginagawa ng kanyang panginoon. Sa halip, itinuring ko kayong mga kaibigan, sapagkat sinabi ko sa inyo ang lahat ng narinig ko sa aking Ama. 16 Hindi kayo ang pumili sa akin, ako ang pumili sa inyo. Hinirang ko kayo upang kayo'y humayo at magbunga at manatili ang inyong bunga. Sa gayon, ang anumang hingin ninyo sa Ama sa aking pangalan, ay ibibigay sa inyo. 17 Ito nga ang utos ko sa inyo: magmahalan kayo.”
Ang Pagkapoot ng Sanlibutan
18 “Kung napopoot sa inyo ang sanlibutan, alalahanin ninyong ako muna ang kinapootan nito bago kayo. 19 Kung kayo'y taga-sanlibutan, kayo'y mamahalin nito bilang kanya. Ngunit hindi kayo taga-sanlibutan, kundi pinili ko kayo mula rito, kaya napopoot sa inyo ang sanlibutan. 20 Alalahanin(B) ninyo ang sinabi kong ito: walang aliping higit kaysa kanyang panginoon. Kung ako'y inusig nila, uusigin din nila kayo. Kung sinunod nila ang aking sinabi, susundin rin nila ang inyong sasabihin. 21 Subalit ang lahat ng ito'y gagawin nila sa inyo dahil sa akin, sapagkat hindi nila kilala ang nagsugo sa akin. 22 Kung hindi ako naparito at nagsalita sa kanila, hindi sana mapapatunayang nagkasala sila. Ngunit ngayo'y wala na silang maidadahilan sa kanilang kasalanan. 23 Ang napopoot sa akin ay napopoot din sa aking Ama. 24 Kung hindi ko sana ginawa sa kanilang kalagitnaan ang mga gawaing hindi pa nagawa ninuman, wala sana silang kasalanan. Ngunit nakita na nila ang aking mga gawa subalit sa kabila nito'y kinapootan pa rin nila ako at ang aking Ama. 25 Subalit(C) nangyari ito upang matupad ang sinasabi sa kanilang Kautusan, ‘Napoot sila sa akin nang walang dahilan.’
26 “Ngunit pagdating ng Patnubay na susuguin ko mula sa Ama, ang Espiritu ng katotohanan na nagmumula sa Ama, siya ay magpapatotoo tungkol sa akin. 27 At magpapatotoo rin kayo tungkol sa akin, sapagkat kasama na ninyo ako buhat pa sa simula.

15 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.
9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.
10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.
12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
17 These things I command you, that ye love one another.
18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
21 But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me.
22 If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloak for their sin.
23 He that hateth me hateth my Father also.
24 If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.
25 But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.
26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:
27 And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.

15 I am HaGefen HaAmittit (the true vine)[TEHILLIM 80:8-20; YESHAYAH 5:1-7; YECHEZKEL 19:10] and HaAv of me is the Korem (vineyard proprietor).
2 Every sarig (shoot, branch) in me not bearing p’ri [TEHILLIM 92:14] He takes it away, and every sarig bearing p’ri He prunes that it may bear much p’ri.
3 You are already metoharim (clean) because of the dvar which I have spoken to you.
4 Remain in me and I in you. As the sarig is not able to bear p’ri from itself, unless it remains on the gefen (vine), so neither are you, unless you remain in me.
5 Ani Hu (I am) HaGefen; you are the sarigim (branches). The one remaining in me and I in him, this one bears much p’ri, because apart from me you are not able to do anything.
6 Unless someone remains in me, he is cast out as the sarig and is dried up and they gather them, and into the Eish they throw them, and they are burned. [YECHEZKEL 15:1-8; 19:10]
7 If you remain in me and the dvarim of me remain in you, whatever you want, ask, and it will be done for you!
8 By this HaAv of me was given kavod, that much p’ri you bear, and so be my talmidim.
9 As HaAv has ahavah for me, so I have ahavah for you. Remain in my ahavah [see Yd verse 21].
10 If you are shomer of my mitzvot, you will remain in my ahavah, as I of the mitzvot of HaAv of me have been shomer, and I remain in His ahavah.
11 These things I have spoken to you that the simcha of me may be in you and the simcha of you may be made shleimah.
12 This is my mitzvah for you, that you have ahavah (agape) one for the other, as I have ahavah (agape) for you.
13 Ahavah (agape) gedolah than this no one has, that someone lay down his neshamah for his chaverim [BERESHIS 44:33].
14 You are my chaverim, if you are shomer oner my mitzvot. [IYOV 16:20; MISHLE 18:24]
15 No longer do I call you avadim, because the eved does not have da’as of what his Adon is doing. But you I have called chaverim, because all things which I heard from HaAv of me, of all these things I gave you da’as. [SHEMOT 33:11]
16 It was not that you chose me, but I chose you, and have given you s’michah that you go and bear p’ri and the p’ri of you remain, that whatever you ask HaAv b’Shem of me (Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach), HaAv may give it to you.
17 I am giving you these mitzvot, that you have ahavah (agape) one for the other.
18 If the Olam Hazeh has sin’as chinom (hatred without cause) for you, [YESHAYAH 66:5] be aware it has had sin’as chinom for me before you.
19 If you were of the Olam Hazeh, the Olam Hazeh would have had ahavah for its own. But because from the Olam Hazeh you are not, but I chose you out of the Olam Hazeh, therefore the Olam Hazeh has sin’as chinom for you [1Yn 4:5; Yn 17:14].
20 Put in zikaron (remembrance) the dvar which I told you, An eved is not gadol (greater) than his Adon. If they brought redifah (persecution) on me, they will also bring redifah on you. If over my dvar they were shomer, also over yours they will be shomer.
21 But all these things they will do to you on account of the Shem of me [YESHAYAH 66:5], because they do not have da’as of the One having sent me.
22 If I did not come and speak to them, [YECHEZKEL 2:5] they would not have chet; but now they have no ptur (excuse) for their chet.
23 The one having sin’as chinom (hatred without cause) for me (Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach) has sin’as chinom for HaAv of me.
24 If I did not do pe’ulot among them which no other man did, they would not have chet; but now they have beheld and they have had sin’as chinom for both me and HaAv of me.
25 But this was that the dvar having been written in their Torah might be fulfilled, SONE’AI CHINOM ATZMU (They are many hating me without cause). [TEHILLIM 69:4 5; 35:19; 109:3]
26 But when the Melitz Yosher (Praklit, Advocate, Counselor, Helper in Court) comes, whom I will send to you from HaAv, the Ruach Hakodesh, the Ruach HaEmes, who proceeds from HaAv, that one will gives solemn edut (testimony) about me.
27 And you [Shlichim] will give solemn edut (testimony) also, because from the beginning you are with me.
