14 Tinikman ng mga pinuno ng Israel ang mga pagkain ngunit hindi man lamang sumangguni kay Yahweh. 15 Kaya't nakipagkasundo sa kanila si Josue at nangako na hindi sila papatayin. Sumang-ayon din sa kasunduan ang mga pinuno ng Israel.
16 Tatlong araw pagkatapos pagtibayin ang kasunduan, nalaman ng mga Israelita na hindi pala taga malayo ang mga taong iyon, kundi tagaroon din sa lupaing iyon.

14 The Israelites sampled their provisions but did not inquire(A) of the Lord. 15 Then Joshua made a treaty of peace(B) with them to let them live,(C) and the leaders of the assembly ratified it by oath.
16 Three days after they made the treaty with the Gibeonites, the Israelites heard that they were neighbors, living near(D) them.
