Ang Pulong Sa Dios
Namalik sa Ilang Dapit ang mga Tribo sa Israel nga anaa sa Sidlakan
22 Unya, gitigom ni Josue ang mga katawhan sa tribo ni Reuben, ni Gad, ug sa katunga sa tribo ni Manase. 2 Miingon si Josue kanila, “Gihimo ninyo ang tanan nga gisugo kaninyo ni Moises nga alagad sa Ginoo ug gituman usab ninyo ang tanan kong gisugo. 3 Hangtod karon wala ninyo pasagdi ang inyong isigka-Israelinhon. Ug gituman ninyo pag-ayo ang tanang gisugo kaninyo sa Ginoo nga inyong Dios. 4 Ug karon, naangkon na sa inyong isigka-Israelinhon ang kalinaw nga gisaad kanila sa Ginoo. Busa pamauli na kamo sa inyong mga dapit sa tabok sa Suba sa Jordan, sa yuta nga gihatag kaninyo ni Moises nga alagad sa Ginoo. 5 Apan ayaw gayod ninyo kalimti ang pagtuman sa mga sugo ug balaod nga gihatag ni Moises nga alagad sa Ginoo kaninyo. Higugmaa ninyo ang Ginoo nga inyong Dios. Pagkinabuhi kamo subay sa iyang pamaagi. Tumana ang iyang mga sugo. Magmatinumanon kaniya, ug alagari siya sa tibuok ninyong kasingkasing ug kalag.” 6 Unya gipanalanginan sila ni Josue ug gipapauli. 7 (Ang katunga sa tribo ni Manase gihatagan ni Moises ug yuta sa Basan, ug ang laing katunga gihatagan ni Josue ug yuta sa kasadpang bahin sa Suba sa Jordan uban sa lain pa nga mga tribo.)
Sa dihang mamauli na sila gipanalanginan sila ni Josue 8 nga nagaingon, “Pamauli kamo nga may dala nga daghang mga bahandi—mga kahayopan, plata, bulawan, bronsi, puthaw, ug mga bisti. Bahini ninyo ang inyong mga paryente nga atua sa inyong dapit sa bisan unsa nga inyong nailog gikan sa inyong mga kaaway.” 9 Ug unya namauli ang mga katawhan sa tribo nila ni Reuben, Gad, ug ang katunga sa tribo ni Manase. Gibiyaan nila ang ilang isigka-Israelinhon sa Shilo, sa yuta sa Canaan, ug namauli sila sa Gilead, sa yuta nga nahimong ilang bahin sumala sa gisugo sa Ginoo pinaagi kang Moises.
10 Pag-abot nila sa Gelilot, nga duol sa Suba sa Jordan, nga sakop pa sa Canaan, nagpatindog sila didto ug dakong halaran. 11-12 Sa dihang nabalitaan sa ubang mga Israelinhon nga nagpatindog ang tribo nila ni Reuben, Gad, ug ang katunga sa tribo ni Manase ug halaran didto sa utlanan sa Canaan, didto sa Gelilot, nga duol sa Suba sa Jordan, nagtigom sila sa Shilo sa pagpakiggira kanila. 13 Gisugo sa mga Israelinhon si Finehas nga anak ni Eleazar nga pari nga moadto sa Gilead, didto sa tribo ni Reuben, ni Gad, ug sa katunga sa tribo ni Manase. 14 May kauban siya nga napulo ka mga pangulo gikan sa matag tribo sa Israel, ug kini sila mga pangulo usab sa mga pamilya sa ilang mga tribo. 15 Pag-abot nila sa Gilead, miingon sila sa tribo ni Reuben, ni Gad, ug sa katunga sa tribo ni Manase, 16 “Gustong mahibaloan sa tibuok katilingban sa Ginoo kon nganong nagluib kamo sa Dios sa Israel. Nakasupak kamo sa Ginoo pinaagi sa inyong pagpatindog ug halaran alang sa inyong kaugalingon. Nganong mitalikod kamo kaniya? 17 Dili pa ba igo ang nahimo natong sala didto sa Peor? Tungod niadto gipadad-an kita sa Ginoo ug katalagman. Ug hangtod karon nagaantos pa kita tungod niadto. 18 Karon, nakaako pa kamo sa pagtalikod sa Ginoo! Kon mosupak pa kamo kaniya karong adlawa, ugma masuko gayod siya sa tibuok katilingban sa Israel. 19 Busa, kon nagkinahanglan kamog halaran kay ang inyong yuta dili angay nga pagasimbahan,[a] tabok kamo didto sa amo, sa yuta sa Ginoo diin atua ang Tolda nga ginasimbahan kaniya, ug didto na kamo mopuyo uban kanamo. Basta ayaw lang gayod kamo pagpatindog ug laing halaran gawas sa halaran sa Ginoo nga atong Dios, kay usa kana ka pagrebelde kaniya ug kanamo. 20 Nalimtan na ba ninyo ang gibuhat ni Acan nga anak ni Zera? Sa dihang gilapas niya ang sugo bahin sa mga butang nga gihalad na sa hingpit ngadto sa Ginoo, gisilotan uban kaniya ang tibuok katilingban sa Israel. Dili lang siya ang namatay tungod sa iyang sala.”
21 Mitubag ang mga tribo nila ni Reuben, Gad, ug katunga sa tribo ni Manase niadtong mga pangulo sa mga pamilya sa Israel: 22 “Ang Ginoo mao ang Makagagahom nga Dios! Ang Ginoo mao ang Makagagahom nga Dios! Nahibalo siya kon nganong gihimo namo kini, ug angay usab ninyo kining mahibaloan. Kon nagrebelde man ugaling kami o nakalapas sa Ginoo, ayaw na ninyo tugoti nga mabuhi pa kami niining adlawa. 23 Kon gilapas namo ang Ginoo pinaagi sa among pagpatindog sa among kaugalingong halaran aron halaran sa among mga halad nga sinunog, mga halad sa pagpasidungog sa Ginoo, o mga halad alang sa maayong relasyon, hinaut nga ang Ginoo mismo ang mosilot kanamo.
24 “Gihimo namo kini tungod kay nahadlok kami nga basin ug sa ulahing mga panahon ang inyong mga kaliwat moingon sa among mga kaliwat, ‘Unsa may inyong labot sa Ginoo, ang Dios sa Israel? 25 Gihimo sa Ginoo nga utlanan ang Suba sa Jordan sa pagbulag kaninyo gikan kanamo. Kamong mga tribo ni Reuben ug ni Gad, wala kamoy labot sa Ginoo.’ Basin kon mao kana ang ilang isulti ug did-an sa inyong mga kaliwat ang among mga kaliwat sa pagsimba sa Ginoo. 26 Ang tinuod, gipatindog namo kini nga halaran, dili aron sunogan o halaran sa among mga halad, 27 kondili, aron mahimo kining timailhan nga mopahinumdom kanamo, kaninyo, ug sa atong umaabot nga mga kaliwat nga ginasimba usab namo ang Ginoo pinaagi sa mga halad nga sinunog, halad alang sa maayong relasyon, ug uban pang mga halad, didto sa iyang Tolda.[b] Niining paagiha dili makaingon ang inyong mga kaliwat sa among mga kaliwat nga kini sila walay labot sa Ginoo. 28 Kay kon mahitabo man gayod nga sultihan nila ang among mga kaliwat ug sama niana, makaingon sila, ‘Tan-awa! Nagpatindog ang among mga katigulangan ug halaran nga sama sa halaran sa Ginoo, dili aron sunogan o halaran sa mga halad, kondili, aron mopahinumdom kanamo ug kaninyo sa atong relasyon sa Ginoo.’
29 “Dili namo mahimo ang pagsupak o pagtalikod sa Ginoo pinaagi sa pagpatindog ug among kaugalingong halaran aron halaran sa mga halad nga sinunog, mga halad sa pagpasidungog sa Ginoo, ug sa uban pang mga halad. Dili namo ibaylo ang halaran sa Ginoo nga atong Dios nga anaa atubangan sa iyang Tolda.”
30 Nalipay si Finehas nga pari ug ang mga pangulo sa mga pamilya sa katilingban sa Israel sa dihang nadungog nila ang giingon sa mga tribo nila ni Reuben, Gad, ug katunga sa tribo ni Manase. 31 Busa miingon si Finehas nga anak sa pari nga si Eleazar, “Nahibaloan nato karon nga ang Ginoo nagauban kanato kay wala kamo mosupak kaniya. Giluwas ninyo ang Israel gikan sa silot sa Ginoo.”
32 Unya namauli sila si Finehas ug ang mga pangulo sa Canaan, ug gisulti nila sa mga Israelinhon ang resulta sa ilang pagpakigsulti sa mga tribo ni Reuben ug Gad didto sa Gilead. 33 Nalipay ang mga Israelinhon sa ilang nadungog ug midayeg sila sa Dios. Ug wala na sila maghisgot bahin sa ilang pagsulong sa kayutaan nga gipuy-an sa mga tribo nila ni Reuben ug Gad.
34 Ginganlan ang maong halaran sa mga tribo nila ni Reuben ug Gad nga “Ilhanan.” Kay matod nila, “Ilhanan kini alang kanatong tanan nga ang Ginoo[c] atong Dios.”

Eastern Tribes Return to Their Lands
22 Then Joshua called the Reubenites, the Gadites, and half the tribe of Manasseh, 2 and said to them: “You have kept (A)all that Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, (B)and have obeyed my voice in all that I commanded you. 3 You have not [a]left your brethren these many days, up to this day, but have kept the charge of the commandment of the Lord your God. 4 And now the Lord your God has given (C)rest to your brethren, as He promised them; now therefore, return and go to your tents and to the land of your possession, (D)which Moses the servant of the Lord gave you on the other side of the Jordan. 5 But (E)take[b] careful heed to do the commandment and the law which Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, (F)to love the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways, to keep His commandments, to hold fast to Him, and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul.” 6 So Joshua (G)blessed them and sent them away, and they went to their tents.
7 Now to half the tribe of Manasseh Moses had given a possession in Bashan, (H)but to the other half of it Joshua gave a possession among their brethren on this side of the Jordan, westward. And indeed, when Joshua sent them away to their tents, he blessed them, 8 and spoke to them, saying, “Return with much riches to your tents, with very much livestock, with silver, with gold, with bronze, with iron, and with very much clothing. (I)Divide the [c]spoil of your enemies with your brethren.”
9 So the children of Reuben, the children of Gad, and half the tribe of Manasseh returned, and departed from the children of Israel at Shiloh, which is in the land of Canaan, to go to (J)the country of Gilead, to the land of their possession, which they had obtained according to the word of the Lord by the hand of Moses.
An Altar by the Jordan
10 And when they came to the region of the Jordan which is in the land of Canaan, the children of Reuben, the children of Gad, and half the tribe of Manasseh built an altar there by the Jordan—a great, impressive altar. 11 Now the children of Israel (K)heard someone say, “Behold, the children of Reuben, the children of Gad, and half the tribe of Manasseh have built an altar on the [d]frontier of the land of Canaan, in the region of the Jordan—on the children of Israel’s side.” 12 And when the children of Israel heard of it, (L)the whole congregation of the children of Israel gathered together at Shiloh to go to war against them.
13 Then the children of Israel (M)sent (N)Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest to the children of Reuben, to the children of Gad, and to half the tribe of Manasseh, into the land of Gilead, 14 and with him ten rulers, one ruler each from the chief house of every tribe of Israel; and (O)each one was the head of the house of his father among the [e]divisions of Israel. 15 Then they came to the children of Reuben, to the children of Gad, and to half the tribe of Manasseh, to the land of Gilead, and they spoke with them, saying, 16 “Thus says the whole congregation of the Lord: ‘What (P)treachery[f] is this that you have committed against the God of Israel, to turn away this day from following the Lord, in that you have built for yourselves an altar, (Q)that you might rebel this day against the Lord? 17 Is the iniquity (R)of Peor not enough for us, from which we are not cleansed till this day, although there was a plague in the congregation of the Lord, 18 but that you must turn away this day from following the Lord? And it shall be, if you rebel today against the Lord, that tomorrow (S)He will be angry with the whole congregation of Israel. 19 [g]Nevertheless, if the land of your possession is unclean, then cross over to the land of the possession of the Lord, (T)where the Lord’s tabernacle stands, and take possession among us; but do not rebel against the Lord, nor rebel against us, by building yourselves an altar besides the altar of the Lord our God. 20 (U)Did not Achan the son of Zerah [h]commit a trespass in the [i]accursed thing, and wrath fell on all the congregation of Israel? And that man did not perish alone in his iniquity.’ ”
21 Then the children of Reuben, the children of Gad, and half the tribe of Manasseh answered and said to the heads of the [j]divisions of Israel: 22 “The Lord (V)God of gods, the Lord God of gods, He (W)knows, and let Israel itself know—if it is in rebellion, or if in treachery against the Lord, do not save us this day. 23 If we have built ourselves an altar to turn from following the Lord, or if to offer on it burnt offerings or grain offerings, or if to offer peace offerings on it, let the Lord Himself (X)require an account. 24 But in fact we have done it [k]for fear, for a reason, saying, ‘In time to come your descendants may speak to our descendants, saying, “What have you to do with the Lord God of Israel? 25 For the Lord has made the Jordan a border between you and us, you children of Reuben and children of Gad. You have no part in the Lord.” So your descendants would make our descendants cease fearing the Lord.’ 26 Therefore we said, ‘Let us now prepare to build ourselves an altar, not for burnt offering nor for sacrifice, 27 but that it may be (Y)a [l]witness between you and us and our generations after us, that we may (Z)perform the service of the Lord before Him with our burnt offerings, with our sacrifices, and with our peace offerings; that your descendants may not say to our descendants in time to come, “You have no part in the Lord.” ’ 28 Therefore we said that it will be, when they say this to us or to our generations in time to come, that we may say, ‘Here is the replica of the altar of the Lord which our fathers made, though not for burnt offerings nor for sacrifices; but it is a witness between you and us.’ 29 Far be it from us that we should rebel against the Lord, and turn from following the Lord this day, (AA)to build an altar for burnt offerings, for grain offerings, or for sacrifices, besides the altar of the Lord our God which is before His tabernacle.”
30 Now when Phinehas the priest and the rulers of the congregation, the heads of the [m]divisions of Israel who were with him, heard the words that the children of Reuben, the children of Gad, and the children of Manasseh spoke, it pleased them. 31 Then Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest said to the children of Reuben, the children of Gad, and the children of Manasseh, “This day we perceive that the Lord is (AB)among us, because you have not committed this treachery against the Lord. Now you have delivered the children of Israel out of the hand of the Lord.”
32 And Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, and the rulers, returned from the children of Reuben and the children of Gad, from the land of Gilead to the land of Canaan, to the children of Israel, and brought back word to them. 33 So the thing pleased the children of Israel, and the children of Israel (AC)blessed God; they spoke no more of going against them in battle, to destroy the land where the children of Reuben and Gad dwelt.
34 The children of Reuben and the children of [n]Gad called the altar, Witness, “For it is a witness between us that the Lord is God.”
