Ang Paghahati ng Canaan
14 Ang mga lipi ng Israel ay nakatanggap ng lupang pamana nang masakop nila ang Canaan. Ang paring si Eleazar at si Josue na anak ni Nun, katulong ang mga pinuno ng angkan ng bawat lipi, ang naghati ng lupain ng Canaan para sa mga Israelita. 2 Ang(A) paghahati ay isinagawa sa pamamagitan ng palabunutan, ayon sa utos ni Yahweh kay Moises. Siyam at kalahating lipi na lamang ang binigyan nila ng kani-kanilang bahagi sa lupain. 3 Ang(B) dalawang lipi at kalahati'y nabigyan na ni Moises ng kanilang bahagi sa silangan ng Jordan. Hindi rin kabilang sa siyam na lipi at kalahati ang mga Levita. 4 Hindi sila binigyan ng lupain. Sa halip, binigyan sila ng mga lunsod na matitirhan at mga kaparangan sa paligid para sa kanilang mga bakahan at mga kawan. Sa kabilang dako, ang mga nagmula sa lahi ni Jose ay pinagdalawang lipi: ang lipi ni Manases at ang lipi ni Efraim. 5 Pinaghati-hatian nga ng mga Israelita ang lupaing iyon ayon sa utos ni Yahweh kay Moises.
Ibinigay kay Caleb ang Hebron
6 Lumapit(C) noon kay Josue sa Gilgal ang ilan sa lipi ni Juda. Isa sa kanila si Caleb na anak ni Jefune, na mula sa angkan ng Cenizeo. Sinabi nito kay Josue, “Alam mo ang sinabi ni Yahweh kay Moises na kanyang lingkod tungkol sa ating dalawa nang tayo'y nasa Kades-barnea. 7 Apatnapung(D) taon pa lamang ako noon. Isinugo niya tayo buhat sa Kades-barnea upang lihim na manmanan ang lupaing ito, at iniulat ko sa kanya ang buong katotohanan. 8 Kahit na ang bayan ay tinakot ng ibang kasama natin, buong katapatan pa rin akong sumunod kay Yahweh na ating Diyos. 9 Kaya't(E) ipinangako sa akin noon ni Moises na dahil sa aking buong katapatan sa pagsunod kay Yahweh, magiging bahagi ko at ng aking mga anak ang lupang matapakan ng aking mga paa. 10 Apatnapu't limang taon na ang lumipas buhat nang sabihin ito ni Yahweh kay Moises. Noo'y naglalakbay pa sa disyerto ang bayang Israel. Iningatan ni Yahweh ang buhay ko hanggang ngayon. Walumpu't limang taon na ako ngayon 11 ngunit hindi pa nagbabago ang lakas ko mula nang ako'y isugo ni Moises upang siyasatin ang lupaing ito. Kaya ko pang makipaglaban at gawin ang kahit anong trabaho. 12 Kaya ibigay mo na sa akin ang kaburulang ipinangako sa akin ni Yahweh. Narinig mo rin na mga higante ang nakatira doon at matitibay ang pader ng naglalakihan nilang lunsod. Ngunit sa tulong ni Yahweh ay palalayasin ko sila sa lupaing iyon gaya ng ipinangako niya.”
13 Binasbasan nga ni Josue si Caleb na anak ni Jefune, at ibinigay sa kanya ang Hebron. 14 Ang lupain ng Hebron ay nananatili hanggang ngayon sa angkan ni Caleb na anak ni Jefune, na isang Cenizeo, sapagkat buong katapatan siyang sumunod kay Yahweh, ang Diyos ng Israel. 15 Noong una'y Lunsod ng Arba ang pangalan ng Hebron, bilang alaala kay Arba, ang pinakadakila sa mga Anaceo.
At nagkaroon nga ng kapayapaan sa buong lupain.

14 Esto, pues, es lo que los hijos de Israel tomaron por heredad en la tierra de Canaán, lo cual les repartieron el sacerdote Eleazar, Josué hijo de Nun, y los cabezas de los padres de las tribus de los hijos de Israel. 2 Por suerte se les dio su heredad, como Jehová había mandado a Moisés que se diera a las nueve tribus y a la media tribu.(A) 3 Porque a las dos tribus y a la media tribu les había dado Moisés heredad al otro lado del Jordán;(B) mas a los levitas no les dio heredad entre ellos. 4 Porque los hijos de José fueron dos tribus, Manasés y Efraín; y no dieron parte a los levitas en la tierra sino ciudades en que morasen, con los ejidos de ellas para sus ganados y rebaños. 5 De la manera que Jehová lo había mandado a Moisés, así lo hicieron los hijos de Israel en el repartimiento de la tierra.
Caleb recibe Hebrón
6 Y los hijos de Judá vinieron a Josué en Gilgal; y Caleb, hijo de Jefone cenezeo, le dijo: Tú sabes lo que Jehová dijo a Moisés, varón de Dios, en Cades-barnea, tocante a mí y a ti.(C) 7 Yo era de edad de cuarenta años cuando Moisés siervo de Jehová me envió de Cades-barnea a reconocer la tierra; y yo le traje noticias como lo sentía en mi corazón.(D) 8 Y mis hermanos, los que habían subido conmigo, hicieron desfallecer el corazón del pueblo; pero yo cumplí siguiendo a Jehová mi Dios. 9 Entonces Moisés juró diciendo: Ciertamente la tierra que holló tu pie será para ti, y para tus hijos en herencia perpetua, por cuanto cumpliste siguiendo a Jehová mi Dios.(E) 10 Ahora bien, Jehová me ha hecho vivir, como él dijo, estos cuarenta y cinco años, desde el tiempo que Jehová habló estas palabras a Moisés, cuando Israel andaba por el desierto; y ahora, he aquí, hoy soy de edad de ochenta y cinco años. 11 Todavía estoy tan fuerte como el día que Moisés me envió; cual era mi fuerza entonces, tal es ahora mi fuerza para la guerra, y para salir y para entrar. 12 Dame, pues, ahora este monte, del cual habló Jehová aquel día; porque tú oíste en aquel día que los anaceos están allí, y que hay ciudades grandes y fortificadas. Quizá Jehová estará conmigo, y los echaré, como Jehová ha dicho.
13 Josué entonces le bendijo, y dio a Caleb hijo de Jefone a Hebrón por heredad. 14 Por tanto, Hebrón vino a ser heredad de Caleb hijo de Jefone cenezeo, hasta hoy, por cuanto había seguido cumplidamente a Jehová Dios de Israel. 15 Mas el nombre de Hebrón fue antes Quiriat-arba;[a] porque Arba fue un hombre grande entre los anaceos. Y la tierra descansó de la guerra.

División de los territorios al occidente del Jordán
14 Estas son las tierras cananeas que el sacerdote Eleazar, Josué, hijo de Nun, y los jefes de los clanes entregaron a los israelitas como herencia. 2 Esa herencia se repartió por sorteo a las nueve tribus y media, tal como el Señor había ordenado por medio de Moisés. 3 Ya este les había dado por herencia la parte oriental del Jordán a las dos tribus y media, pero a los levitas no les dio tierras, 4 porque los descendientes de José se habían dividido en dos tribus, Manasés y Efraín. Los levitas no recibieron tierras, solo algunas poblaciones con sus respectivos campos de cultivo y pastoreo. 5 Así los israelitas dividieron el territorio tal como el Señor se lo había ordenado a Moisés.
Caleb recibe Hebrón
6 Los descendientes de Judá se acercaron a Josué en Guilgal. El quenizita Caleb, hijo de Jefone, pidió a Josué: «Acuérdate de lo que el Señor dijo a Moisés, hombre de Dios, respecto a ti y a mí en Cades Barnea. 7 Yo tenía cuarenta años cuando Moisés, siervo del Señor, me envió desde Cades Barnea para explorar el país y con toda franqueza le informé de lo que vi. 8 Mis compañeros de viaje, por el contrario, desanimaron a la gente y le infundieron temor. Pero yo me mantuve fiel al Señor mi Dios. 9 Ese mismo día Moisés me hizo este juramento: “La tierra que toquen tus pies será herencia tuya y de tus descendientes para siempre, porque fuiste fiel al Señor mi Dios”.[a]
10 »Ya han pasado cuarenta y cinco años desde que el Señor hizo la promesa por medio de Moisés, mientras Israel peregrinaba por el desierto; aquí estoy este día con mis ochenta y cinco años: ¡el Señor me ha mantenido con vida! 11 Y todavía mantengo la misma fortaleza que tenía el día en que Moisés me envió. Para la batalla tengo las mismas energías que tenía entonces. 12 Dame, pues, la región montañosa que el Señor me prometió en esa ocasión. Desde ese día, tú bien sabes que los anaquitas habitan allí y que sus ciudades son enormes y fortificadas. Sin embargo, con la ayuda del Señor los expulsaré de ese territorio, tal como él ha prometido».
13 Entonces Josué bendijo a Caleb, hijo de Jefone, y le dio por herencia el territorio de Hebrón. 14 A partir de ese día Hebrón ha pertenecido al quenizita Caleb, hijo de Jefone, porque fue fiel al Señor, Dios de Israel. 15 Hebrón se llamaba originalmente Quiriat Arbá, porque Arbá fue un importante antepasado de los anaquitas.
Después de todo esto el país se vio libre de guerras.

14 And these are the countries which the children of Israel inherited in the land of Canaan, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel, distributed for inheritance to them.
2 By lot was their inheritance, as the Lord commanded by the hand of Moses, for the nine tribes, and for the half tribe.
3 For Moses had given the inheritance of two tribes and an half tribe on the other side Jordan: but unto the Levites he gave none inheritance among them.
4 For the children of Joseph were two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim: therefore they gave no part unto the Levites in the land, save cities to dwell in, with their suburbs for their cattle and for their substance.
5 As the Lord commanded Moses, so the children of Israel did, and they divided the land.
6 Then the children of Judah came unto Joshua in Gilgal: and Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite said unto him, Thou knowest the thing that the Lord said unto Moses the man of God concerning me and thee in Kadeshbarnea.
7 Forty years old was I when Moses the servant of the Lord sent me from Kadeshbarnea to espy out the land; and I brought him word again as it was in mine heart.
8 Nevertheless my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the people melt: but I wholly followed the Lord my God.
9 And Moses sware on that day, saying, Surely the land whereon thy feet have trodden shall be thine inheritance, and thy children's for ever, because thou hast wholly followed the Lord my God.
10 And now, behold, the Lord hath kept me alive, as he said, these forty and five years, even since the Lord spake this word unto Moses, while the children of Israel wandered in the wilderness: and now, lo, I am this day fourscore and five years old.
11 As yet I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, both to go out, and to come in.
12 Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the Lord spake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so be the Lord will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the Lord said.
13 And Joshua blessed him, and gave unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh Hebron for an inheritance.
14 Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite unto this day, because that he wholly followed the Lord God of Israel.
15 And the name of Hebron before was Kirjatharba; which Arba was a great man among the Anakims. And the land had rest from war.
