Ang mga Haring Natalo ng mga Israelita

12 Nasakop(A) ng mga Israelita ang lupain sa silangan ng Ilog Jordan, buhat sa Ilog Arnon hanggang sa Bundok ng Hermon, at nalupig nila ang mga hari roon. Ang una'y si Sihon, ang hari ng mga Amoreo, na nanirahan sa Hesbon. Sakop niya buhat sa bayan ng Aroer sa Ilog Arnon, pati ang kalahati ng libis nito, hanggang sa Batis ng Jabok sa may hangganan ng mga Ammonita. Samakatuwid, sakop niya ang kalahati ng Gilead, gayundin ang Araba sa gawing silangan ng Jordan, buhat sa gilid ng Lawa ng Cineret patungo sa Beth-jesimot sa gawing silangan, hanggang sa Dagat na Patay tuloy sa paanan ng Bundok ng Pisga papuntang timog.

Nalupig din nila si Haring Og ng Bashan, isa sa ilang natira sa lahi ng mga higante. Nanirahan ang haring ito sa Astarot at sa Edrei. Ibinigay ni Moises na lingkod ni Yahweh ang mga lupain nila sa lipi ni Ruben, ni Gad at sa kalahati ng lipi ni Manases.

Ang mga Haring Natalo ni Josue

Sa pamumuno ni Josue, tinalo ng mga Israelita ang mga hari sa kanluran ng Ilog Jordan: buhat sa Baal-gad, sa kapatagan ng Lebanon hanggang sa Bundok ng Halac, sa pag-ahon ng Bundok Seir. Ang kanilang mga lupai'y pinaghati-hati ni Josue sa mga lipi ng Israel upang maging pag-aari ng mga ito habang panahon. Saklaw ng mga lupaing iyon ang kaburulan, ang mga kapatagan, ang Araba, ang paanan ng mga bundok, ang ilang, at ang Negeb. Doon naninirahan ang mga Heteo, Amoreo, Cananeo, Perezeo, Hivita at Jebuseo. 12 De Israëlieten hebben eerst het land veroverd aan de oostkant van de Jordaan. Namelijk het hele gebied vanaf de beek de Arnon tot aan de Hermonbergen en de hele vlakte. Daar overwonnen ze twee koningen. De eerste koning was koning Sihon van de Amorieten, die in Hesbon woonde. Hij heerste vanaf Aroër, dat aan de oever van de beek de Arnon ligt, aan het middendeel van de beek, en over de helft van Gilead tot aan de beek de Jabbok, de grens met de Ammonieten, en over de vlakte tot aan de oostkant van het meer van Kinnerot en tot aan de oostkant van de zee van de vlakte, de Zoutzee, in de richting van Bet-Jesimot en in zuidelijke richting tot aan Asdot-Pisga. De tweede koning was koning Og van Bazan. Hij was één van de laatste reuzen. Hij woonde in Astarot en Edreï en heerste over de Hermonbergen, Salka en heel Bazan tot aan het gebied van de Gezurieten en de Maächatieten, en over de andere helft van Gilead, tot aan het gebied van koning Sihon. Mozes, de dienaar van de Heer, heeft hen met de Israëlieten verslagen. Hun land gaf hij aan de stammen van Ruben en Gad en aan de halve stam van Manasse.

De volgende koningen heeft Jozua met Israël verslagen aan de westkant van de Jordaan. Hun gebied liep van Baäl-Gad in het dal van de Libanon tot de Kale Bergen, die oplopen in de richting van Seïr. De koning van Hazor. 20 De koning van Simron-Meron. De koning van Achsaf. 21 De koning van Taänach. De koning van Megiddo. 22 De koning van Kedes. De koning van Jokneam bij de Karmel. 23 De koning van Dor bij Nafat-Dor. De koning van Gojim bij Gilgal. 24 De koning van Tirza. Samen 31 koningen.

12 These are the kings of the land whom the Israelites had defeated and whose territory they took(A) over east of the Jordan,(B) from the Arnon(C) Gorge to Mount Hermon,(D) including all the eastern side of the Arabah:(E)

Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon.(F)

He ruled from Aroer(G) on the rim of the Arnon Gorge—from the middle of the gorge—to the Jabbok River,(H) which is the border of the Ammonites.(I) This included half of Gilead.(J) He also ruled over the eastern Arabah from the Sea of Galilee[a](K) to the Sea of the Arabah (that is, the Dead Sea(L)), to Beth Jeshimoth,(M) and then southward below the slopes of Pisgah.(N)

And the territory of Og king of Bashan,(O) one of the last of the Rephaites,(P) who reigned in Ashtaroth(Q) and Edrei.

He ruled over Mount Hermon, Salekah,(R) all of Bashan(S) to the border of the people of Geshur(T) and Maakah,(U) and half of Gilead(V) to the border of Sihon king of Heshbon.

Moses, the servant of the Lord, and the Israelites conquered them.(W) And Moses the servant of the Lord gave their land to the Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh to be their possession.(X)

Here is a list of the kings of the land that Joshua and the Israelites conquered on the west side of the Jordan, from Baal Gad in the Valley of Lebanon(Y) to Mount Halak, which rises toward Seir. Joshua gave their lands as an inheritance to the tribes of Israel according to their tribal divisions. The lands included the hill country, the western foothills, the Arabah, the mountain slopes, the wilderness and the Negev.(Z) These were the lands of the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites.
