39 Han intog det med dess kung och alla dess lydstäder, och de slog deras invånare med svärd. De gav till spillo alla som var därinne. Ingen lät han komma undan. Han gjorde med Debir och dess kung så som han hade gjort med Hebron och som han hade gjort med Libna och dess kung.
40 Så erövrade Josua hela landet, Bergsbygden, Negev, Låglandet och Bergssluttningarna och slog alla kungar där, ingen lät han komma undan. Han gav till spillo allt som andades, så som Herren, Israels Gud, hade befallt. 41 Josua slog allt som fanns mellan Kadesh-Barnea och Gaza, liksom hela landet Gosen ända till Gibeon.

39 They took the city, its king and its villages, and put them to the sword. Everyone in it they totally destroyed. They left no survivors. They did to Debir and its king as they had done to Libnah and its king and to Hebron.(A)
40 So Joshua subdued the whole region, including the hill country, the Negev,(B) the western foothills and the mountain slopes,(C) together with all their kings.(D) He left no survivors. He totally destroyed all who breathed, just as the Lord, the God of Israel, had commanded.(E) 41 Joshua subdued them from Kadesh Barnea(F) to Gaza(G) and from the whole region of Goshen(H) to Gibeon.

39 And he took it, and the king thereof, and all the cities thereof; and they smote them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed all the souls that were therein; he left none remaining: as he had done to Hebron, so he did to Debir, and to the king thereof; as he had done also to Libnah, and to her king.
40 So Joshua smote all the country of the hills, and of the south, and of the vale, and of the springs, and all their kings: he left none remaining, but utterly destroyed all that breathed, as the Lord God of Israel commanded.
41 And Joshua smote them from Kadeshbarnea even unto Gaza, and all the country of Goshen, even unto Gibeon.

40 So Joshua conquered all the land: the (A)mountain country and the [a]South and the lowland and the wilderness slopes, and (B)all their kings; he left none remaining, but (C)utterly destroyed all that breathed, as the Lord God of Israel had commanded. 41 And Joshua conquered them from (D)Kadesh Barnea as far as (E)Gaza, (F)and all the country of Goshen, even as far as Gibeon.
