18 Entonces toda la congregación de los hijos de Israel se reunió en Silo(A), y levantaron allí la tienda de reunión; y la tierra estaba sometida delante de ellos. 2 Y quedaban siete tribus de los hijos de Israel que no habían repartido su heredad. 3 Dijo, pues, Josué a los hijos de Israel: ¿Hasta cuándo pospondréis el entrar a tomar posesión de la tierra(B) que el Señor, el Dios de vuestros padres, os ha dado? 4 Escoged[a] tres hombres de cada[b] tribu, a quienes yo enviaré, y ellos se levantarán y recorrerán la tierra, y harán una descripción de ella según su heredad; entonces volverán[c] a mí. 5 Y la dividirán en siete partes; Judá se quedará en su territorio en el sur(C), y la casa de José se quedará en su territorio en el norte. 6 Y describiréis la tierra en siete partes, y me traeréis aquí la descripción. Y yo os echaré suertes(D) aquí delante del Señor nuestro Dios. 7 Pues los levitas no tienen porción entre vosotros porque el sacerdocio del Señor es su herencia(E). Gad, Rubén y la media tribu de Manasés también han recibido su herencia al otro lado del Jordán hacia el oriente, la cual les dio Moisés, siervo del Señor.
8 Entonces los hombres se levantaron y partieron, y Josué ordenó a los que salieron a describir la tierra, diciendo: Id y recorred la tierra, y describidla y volved a mí; entonces os echaré suertes aquí en Silo(F) delante del Señor. 9 Y los hombres fueron y recorrieron la tierra y la describieron por ciudades en siete partes en un libro; y vinieron a Josué en el campamento en Silo. 10 Y Josué les echó suertes en Silo delante del Señor, y allí Josué repartió la tierra a los hijos de Israel conforme a sus divisiones(G).
11 Y salió[d] la suerte de la tribu de los hijos de Benjamín conforme a sus familias, y el territorio de su suerte estaba[e] entre los hijos de Judá y los hijos de José. 12 Y su límite por el lado norte comenzaba en[f] el Jordán, subía[g] por el lado de Jericó al norte, ascendía por la región montañosa hacia el occidente y terminaba[h] en el desierto de Bet-avén(H). 13 De allí el límite seguía hasta Luz, por el lado sur de Luz, es decir, Betel(I); y el límite bajaba hasta Atarot-adar, cerca del monte que está al sur de Bet-horón(J) de abajo. 14 Y el límite doblaba allí y se extendía hacia el sur por el lado occidental, desde el monte que está frente a Bet-horón hacia el sur; y terminaba[i] en Quiriat-baal, es decir, Quiriat-jearim, ciudad de los hijos de Judá. Este era el límite occidental. 15 Y por el lado sur, desde el extremo de Quiriat-jearim, el límite seguía hacia el occidente e iba hasta la fuente de las aguas de Neftoa(K). 16 Entonces el límite bajaba hasta la orilla del monte que está en el valle de Ben-hinom[j](L), que está en el valle de Refaim hacia el norte; y bajaba al valle de Hinom, hasta la ladera del jebuseo hacia el sur, y bajaba hasta En-rogel[k]. 17 Luego doblaba hacia el norte e iba hasta En-semes y hasta Gelitot, que está frente a la subida de Adumín, y bajaba hasta la piedra de Bohán, hijo de Rubén(M), 18 continuaba por el lado frente al Arabá hacia el norte y bajaba hasta el Arabá. 19 El límite seguía por el lado de Bet-hogla hacia el norte, y terminaba[l] en la bahía norte del mar Salado, en el extremo sur del Jordán. Este era el límite sur. 20 El Jordán era su límite al lado oriental. Esta fue la heredad de los hijos de Benjamín, conforme a sus familias y conforme a sus límites alrededor.
21 Y las ciudades de la tribu de los hijos de Benjamín, conforme a sus familias, eran: Jericó, Bet-hogla, Emec-casis, 22 Bet-arabá, Zemaraim, Betel, 23 Avim, Pará, Ofra, 24 Quefar-haamoni, Ofni y Geba(N); doce ciudades con sus aldeas. 25 Gabaón, Ramá, Beerot, 26 Mizpa, Cafira, Mozah, 27 Requem, Irpeel, Tarala, 28 Zela(O), Elef, Jebús, es decir, Jerusalén, Guibeá[m] y Quiriat; catorce ciudades con sus aldeas. Esta fue la heredad de los hijos de Benjamín(P) conforme a sus familias.

18 The entire community of the people of Isra’el assembled themselves together at Shiloh and set up the tent of meeting there, after the land had been subdued before them. 2 There still remained among the people of Isra’el seven tribes that had not yet received their inheritance. 3 Y’hoshua said to the people of Isra’el, “How long will you delay going in to take possession of the land which Adonai the God of your ancestors has given you? 4 Appoint three men for each tribe; I will commission them; and they are to set out, go through the land and describe it according to their inheritance; then they are to come back to me. 5 They are to divide it into seven portions, with Y’hudah remaining in its territory to the south and the house of Yosef in their territory to the north. 6 You will describe seven portions of land and bring the descriptions here to me; then I will cast lots for you here before Adonai our God. 7 But the L’vi’im have no share with you, because the office of cohen to Adonai is their inheritance; and Gad and Re’uven and the half-tribe of M’nasheh have received their inheritance beyond the Yarden to the east, which Moshe the servant of Adonai gave them.”
8 So the men got up and went. Y’hoshua gave them this commission as they left to describe the land: “Go; walk through the land; and describe it; then come back to me, and I will cast lots for you here before Adonai in Shiloh.” 9 The men went and passed through the land, surveying it by cities, dividing it into seven regions and writing the results on a scroll. Then they came to Y’hoshua in the camp at Shiloh. 10 Y’hoshua cast lots for them in Shiloh before Adonai, and there Y’hoshua divided the land among the people of Isra’el according to their regions.
11 The lot for the tribe of the descendants of Binyamin came up according to their families. The border of their territory chosen by lot was between the descendants of Y’hudah and the descendants of Yosef.
12 On the north side, their border began at the Yarden, went up alongside Yericho on the north, continued up through the hills westward and arrived at the Beit-Aven Desert. 13 From there the border passed on to Luz, to the south side of Luz (that is, Beit-El); then the border went down to ‘Atrot-Adar, by the hill on the south side of Lower Beit-Horon.
14 The border was delineated as turning at the western corner and heading southward, from the hill located in front of Beit-Horon on the south; and it ended at Kiryat-Ba‘al (that is, Kiryat-Ye‘arim), a city belonging to the descendants of Y’hudah; this was the west side.
15 On the south the border extended westward from the most distant part of Kiryat-Ye‘arim, going out to the source of the Neftoach Spring. 16 Then the border went down to the farthest part of the hill located in front of the Ben-Hinnom Valley, north of the Refa’im Valley, south of the Y’vusi; and continued down to ‘Ein-Rogel, 17 where it was drawn to the north; then it went on to ‘Ein-Shemesh; continued to G’lilot, which is across from Ma‘alei-Adumim; went down to the Stone of Bohan the son of Re’uven; 18 passed alongside the ‘Aravah, heading north; and went down to the ‘Aravah. 19 Then the border passed alongside Beit-Hoglah, heading north; and the border ended at the north bay of the Dead Sea, at the south end of the Yarden; this was the south border.
20 The Yarden was to be its border on the east side.
This was the inheritance of the descendants of Binyamin, defined by its surrounding borders, according to their families.
21 The cities of the tribe of the descendants of Binyamin according to their families were: Yericho, Beit-Hoglah, ‘Emek-K’tzitz, 22 Beit-‘Aravah, Tz’marayim, Beit-El, 23 ‘Avim, Parah, ‘Ofrah, 24 K’far-Ha‘amonah, ‘Ofni and Geva — twelve cities, together with their villages. 25 Giv‘on, Ramah, Be’erot, 26 Mitzpeh, K’firah, Motzah, 27 Rekem, Yirpe’el, Tar’alah, 28 Tzela, Elef, Y’vusi (that is, Yerushalayim), Giv‘at and Kiryat — fourteen cities, together with their villages.
This is the inheritance of the descendants of Binyamin according to their families.

18 And the whole congregation of the children of Israel assembled together at Shiloh, and set up the tabernacle of the congregation there. And the land was subdued before them.
2 And there remained among the children of Israel seven tribes, which had not yet received their inheritance.
3 And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, How long are ye slack to go to possess the land, which the Lord God of your fathers hath given you?
4 Give out from among you three men for each tribe: and I will send them, and they shall rise, and go through the land, and describe it according to the inheritance of them; and they shall come again to me.
5 And they shall divide it into seven parts: Judah shall abide in their coast on the south, and the house of Joseph shall abide in their coasts on the north.
6 Ye shall therefore describe the land into seven parts, and bring the description hither to me, that I may cast lots for you here before the Lord our God.
7 But the Levites have no part among you; for the priesthood of the Lord is their inheritance: and Gad, and Reuben, and half the tribe of Manasseh, have received their inheritance beyond Jordan on the east, which Moses the servant of the Lord gave them.
8 And the men arose, and went away: and Joshua charged them that went to describe the land, saying, Go and walk through the land, and describe it, and come again to me, that I may here cast lots for you before the Lord in Shiloh.
9 And the men went and passed through the land, and described it by cities into seven parts in a book, and came again to Joshua to the host at Shiloh.
10 And Joshua cast lots for them in Shiloh before the Lord: and there Joshua divided the land unto the children of Israel according to their divisions.
11 And the lot of the tribe of the children of Benjamin came up according to their families: and the coast of their lot came forth between the children of Judah and the children of Joseph.
12 And their border on the north side was from Jordan; and the border went up to the side of Jericho on the north side, and went up through the mountains westward; and the goings out thereof were at the wilderness of Bethaven.
13 And the border went over from thence toward Luz, to the side of Luz, which is Bethel, southward; and the border descended to Atarothadar, near the hill that lieth on the south side of the nether Bethhoron.
14 And the border was drawn thence, and compassed the corner of the sea southward, from the hill that lieth before Bethhoron southward; and the goings out thereof were at Kirjathbaal, which is Kirjathjearim, a city of the children of Judah: this was the west quarter.
15 And the south quarter was from the end of Kirjathjearim, and the border went out on the west, and went out to the well of waters of Nephtoah:
16 And the border came down to the end of the mountain that lieth before the valley of the son of Hinnom, and which is in the valley of the giants on the north, and descended to the valley of Hinnom, to the side of Jebusi on the south, and descended to Enrogel,
17 And was drawn from the north, and went forth to Enshemesh, and went forth toward Geliloth, which is over against the going up of Adummim, and descended to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben,
18 And passed along toward the side over against Arabah northward, and went down unto Arabah:
19 And the border passed along to the side of Bethhoglah northward: and the outgoings of the border were at the north bay of the salt sea at the south end of Jordan: this was the south coast.
20 And Jordan was the border of it on the east side. This was the inheritance of the children of Benjamin, by the coasts thereof round about, according to their families.
21 Now the cities of the tribe of the children of Benjamin according to their families were Jericho, and Bethhoglah, and the valley of Keziz,
22 And Betharabah, and Zemaraim, and Bethel,
23 And Avim, and Pharah, and Ophrah,
24 And Chepharhaammonai, and Ophni, and Gaba; twelve cities with their villages:
25 Gibeon, and Ramah, and Beeroth,
26 And Mizpeh, and Chephirah, and Mozah,
27 And Rekem, and Irpeel, and Taralah,
28 And Zelah, Eleph, and Jebusi, which is Jerusalem, Gibeath, and Kirjath; fourteen cities with their villages. This is the inheritance of the children of Benjamin according to their families.
