Joshua 8:8-10

8 When you have taken the city, set it on fire in obedience to the Lord’s command. These are my orders to you.”(A) 9 Then Joshua sent them away. They went to the place of ambush, taking up their position to the west of Ai, toward Bethel. Joshua, however, spent that night with the army.
10 Early the next morning Joshua mustered the army and went up to Ai at its head, with the elders of Israel.

New International Version
8 When you have taken the city, set it on fire.(A) Do what the Lord has commanded.(B) See to it; you have my orders.”
9 Then Joshua sent them off, and they went to the place of ambush(C) and lay in wait between Bethel and Ai, to the west of Ai—but Joshua spent that night with the people.
10 Early the next morning(D) Joshua mustered his army, and he and the leaders of Israel(E) marched before them to Ai.
