²⁵So Joshua saved Rahab the harlot, with her father’s household and all that she had; and she lives in Israel even to this day, because she hid the messengers whom Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.

²⁶Then Joshua laid this oath on them, Cursed is the man before the Lord who rises up and rebuilds this city, Jericho. With the loss of his firstborn shall he lay its foundation, and with the loss of his youngest son shall he set up its gates.^(A)

²⁷So the Lord was with Joshua, and his fame was in all the land.

Joshua 6:25-27

New International Version

²⁵But Joshua spared^(A) Rahab the prostitute,^(B) with her family and all who belonged to her, because she hid the men Joshua had sent as spies to Jericho^(C)—and she lives among the Israelites to this day.

²⁶At that time Joshua pronounced this solemn oath:^(D) “Cursed^(E) before the Lord is the one who undertakes to rebuild this city, Jericho:

“At the cost of his firstborn son
he will lay its foundations;
at the cost of his youngest
he will set up its gates.”^(F)

²⁷So the Lord was with Joshua,^(G) and his fame spread^(H) throughout the land.
