7 Your fathers cried out to the Lord, so He put darkness between you and the Egyptians, and brought the sea over them, engulfing them. Your own eyes saw what I did to Egypt. After that, you lived in the wilderness a long time.
8 “‘Later, I brought you to the land of the Amorites who lived beyond the Jordan.(A) They fought against you, but I handed them over to you. You possessed their land, and I annihilated them before you. 9 Balak son of Zippor, king of Moab,(B) set out to fight against Israel. He sent for Balaam son of Beor to curse you,

7 But they cried(A) to the Lord for help, and he put darkness(B) between you and the Egyptians; he brought the sea over them and covered them.(C) You saw with your own eyes what I did to the Egyptians.(D) Then you lived in the wilderness for a long time.(E)
8 “‘I brought you to the land of the Amorites(F) who lived east of the Jordan. They fought against you, but I gave them into your hands. I destroyed them from before you, and you took possession of their land.(G) 9 When Balak son of Zippor,(H) the king of Moab, prepared to fight against Israel, he sent for Balaam son of Beor(I) to put a curse on you.(J)

8 And I brought you into the land of the Amorites, which dwelt on the other side Jordan; and they fought with you: and I gave them into your hand, that ye might possess their land; and I destroyed them from before you.
