2 And Joshua said to all the people, “Thus says the Lord God of Israel: (A)‘Your fathers, including Terah, the father of Abraham and the father of Nahor, dwelt on the other side of [a]the River in old times; and (B)they served other gods. 3 (C)Then I took your father Abraham from the other side of [b]the River, led him throughout all the land of Canaan, and multiplied his [c]descendants and (D)gave him Isaac. 4 To Isaac I gave (E)Jacob and Esau. To (F)Esau I gave the mountains of Seir to possess, (G)but Jacob and his children went down to Egypt.

2 Joshua said to all the people, “This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘Long ago your ancestors, including Terah the father of Abraham and Nahor,(A) lived beyond the Euphrates River and worshiped other gods.(B) 3 But I took your father Abraham from the land beyond the Euphrates and led him throughout Canaan(C) and gave him many descendants.(D) I gave him Isaac,(E) 4 and to Isaac I gave Jacob and Esau.(F) I assigned the hill country of Seir(G) to Esau, but Jacob and his family went down to Egypt.(H)
