17 from Mount Halak that rises to Seir and to Baal Gad in the valley of Lebanon[a] at the foot of[b] Mount Hermon; he captured all their kings, struck them, and killed them. 18 For many days Joshua made war with all these kings. 19 There was not a city that made peace with the Israelites[c] besides the Hivites[d] and the inhabitants of Gibeon—all were taken in battle.[e]

17 from Mount Halak,(A) which ascends to Seir, as far as Baal-gad in the Valley of Lebanon at the foot of Mount Hermon. He captured all their kings and struck them down, putting them to death.(B) 18 Joshua waged war with all these kings for a long time. 19 No city made peace with the Israelites except the Hivites who inhabited Gibeon;(C) all of them were taken in battle.

New International Version
17 from Mount Halak, which rises toward Seir,(A) to Baal Gad(B) in the Valley of Lebanon(C) below Mount Hermon.(D) He captured all their kings and put them to death.(E) 18 Joshua waged war against all these kings for a long time. 19 Except for the Hivites(F) living in Gibeon,(G) not one city made a treaty of peace(H) with the Israelites, who took them all in battle.
