¹⁵ As the Lord had commanded his servant Moses, so Moses commanded Joshua, and so Joshua did; he left nothing undone of all that the Lord had commanded Moses.^(A)

⁷ Only be strong and very courageous, being careful to act in accordance with all the law that my servant Moses commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, so that you may be successful wherever you go.^(A)

²⁰ I did not shrink from doing anything helpful, proclaiming the message to you and teaching you publicly and from house to house,^(A)

² and when the Lord your God gives them over to you and you defeat them, then you must utterly destroy them. Make no covenant with them and show them no mercy.^(A)

¹¹ “Observe what I command you today. See, I will drive out before you the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites.^{(A) 12} Take care not to make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land to which you are going, or it will become a snare among you.^{(B) 13} Rather, you shall tear down their altars, break their pillars, and cut down their sacred poles,^[a](C)

²⁷ for I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole purpose of God.^(A)

¹² The hand of God was also on Judah to give them one heart to do what the king and the officials commanded by the word of the Lord.

⁷ Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, “Be strong and bold, for you are the one who will go with this people into the land that the Lord has sworn to their ancestors to give them, and you will put them in possession of it.^(A)
