Joshua 10:24-26
New International Version
24 When they had brought these kings(A) to Joshua, he summoned all the men of Israel and said to the army commanders who had come with him, “Come here and put your feet(B) on the necks of these kings.” So they came forward and placed their feet(C) on their necks.
25 Joshua said to them, “Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Be strong and courageous.(D) This is what the Lord will do to all the enemies you are going to fight.” 26 Then Joshua put the kings to death and exposed their bodies on five poles, and they were left hanging on the poles until evening.

24 Als sie aber diese Könige zu Josua herausgeführt hatten, rief Josua allen Männern Israels und sprach zu den Obersten des Kriegsvolkes, die mit ihm gezogen waren: Kommt herzu und setzet euren Fuß auf den Nacken dieser Könige! Und sie kamen herzu und setzten ihnen den Fuß auf den Nacken.
25 Da sprach Josua zu ihnen: Fürchtet euch nicht und lasset euch nicht grauen; seid stark; denn also wird der Herr allen euren Feinden tun, wider die ihr streitet! 26 Darnach schlug sie Josua und tötete sie und hängte sie an fünf Bäume. Und sie hingen an den Bäumen bis zum Abend.
