New International Version
12 On the day the Lord gave the Amorites(A) over to Israel, Joshua said to the Lord in the presence of Israel:
“Sun, stand still over Gibeon,
and you, moon, over the Valley of Aijalon.(B)”
13 So the sun stood still,(C)
and the moon stopped,
till the nation avenged itself on[a] its enemies,
as it is written in the Book of Jashar.(D)
The sun stopped(E) in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day.

12 Then Joshua spoke to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel:
(A)“Sun, stand still over Gibeon;
And Moon, in the Valley of (B)Aijalon.”
13 So the sun stood still,
And the moon stopped,
Till the people had revenge
Upon their enemies.
(C)Is this not written in the Book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and did not hasten to go down for about a whole day.

until the nation took vengeance on their enemies.
Is this not written in the Book of Jashar? The sun stopped in midheaven and did not hurry to set for about a whole day.(B)
