God’s Orders to Joshua

1 Now it came about after the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, that the Lord spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ ^[a]servant, saying,

⁴⁵ Our fathers in turn received it, and they also ^(A)brought it in with Joshua upon dispossessing the ^[a]nations that God drove out from our fathers, until the time of David.

⁸ For ^(A)if ^[a]Joshua had given them rest, He would not have spoken of another day after that.
