11 Israel has sinned, and (A)they have also violated My covenant which I commanded them. And they have even taken some of the things designated for destruction, and have both stolen and kept it a secret. Furthermore, they have also put them among their own things. 12 Therefore the (B)sons of Israel cannot stand against their enemies; they turn their [a]backs before their enemies, because they have become designated for destruction. I will not be with you anymore unless you eliminate from your midst the things designated for destruction.

20 So Samuel brought all the tribes of Israel forward; and the tribe of Benjamin was selected by lot.
