Joshua 4:6-7
New American Standard Bible
6 [a]This shall be a sign among you; (A)when your children ask [b]later, saying, ‘What do these stones mean to you?’ 7 then you shall say to them, ‘That the (B)waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the Lord; when it crossed the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off.’ So these stones shall become a (C)memorial to the sons of Israel forever.”

New International Version
6 to serve as a sign(A) among you. In the future, when your children(B) ask you, ‘What do these stones mean?’(C) 7 tell them that the flow of the Jordan was cut off(D) before the ark of the covenant of the Lord. When it crossed the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off. These stones are to be a memorial(E) to the people of Israel forever.”
