¹⁶ “Thus says the whole congregation of Yahweh, ‘What is this unfaithful act which you have committed against the God of Israel, turning away from following Yahweh this day, by ^(A)building yourselves an altar, to rebel against Yahweh this day?

¹³ And Samuel said to Saul, “^(A)You have acted foolishly; ^(B)you have not kept the commandment of Yahweh your God, which He commanded you, for now Yahweh would have established your kingdom ^[a]over Israel ^(C)forever.

⁶ “^(A)But if you or your sons indeed turn away from following Me, and do not keep My commandments and My statutes which I have given before you, and go and serve other gods and worship them, ^7 (B)then I will cut off Israel from the land which I have given them, and ^(C)the house which I have set apart as holy for My name, I will ^[a]cast out of My presence. So ^(D)Israel will become a proverb and a byword among all peoples.
